Agree. This is an area Tennessee needs to get better at if they want some skin in the game of recruiting nationally and keeping kids. I don't know the monetary deals in place for those that do have NIL deals at TN but do know it's becoming an issue a year later with some not having them. Not going to make excuses, but between the Buick NIL deal and some boosters working behind the scenes, Arkansas softball is playing a different game on the recruiting trail than everyone not named Oklahoma.

I don’t think it’s as simple as saying Tennessee needs to get better. Tennessee’s female athletes, across-the-board, have bigger and more lucrative NIL deals than all but a few athletes at any school. But speaking of Arkansas specifically, they are just playing a different game because they have a couple of business owners that are specifically tied to Softball. Those people don’t exist in this market, same as they don’t exist in most every other market. But when you have a dealership that guarantees every scholarship softball player will have a vehicle to drive, that’s a game changer. And nobody else is doing that for any team, male or female, anywhere else in the country right now.
There’s another business owner in Arkansas that is supposedly giving players NIL deals that cover the full cost of attendance, beyond the scholarship. That is basically giving Courtney unlimited full scholarships to go after recruits and transfers. There’s nothing you can do about it, other than just working harder, because that’s not something that any coach or administration can snap their fingers and make happen.
Sadly...yes...My meaning by Tennessee as a whole is like you stated from Arkansas, not just admin but business investment. Texas Tech through their Matador Club (similar to Spyre) secured a deal for each softball player for roughly 10K. I'm not stating cars or even what Arkansas has in regards to deals/cash to cover tuition but there needs to be a package that is competitive. However that looks, I'm not sure but this next wave of players coming through will see recruiting in different light from "dream school" to "best NIL deal"
Duke 14 UT 8 in the ninth. Karlyn taken out in the ninth. I left after she was taken out. Don't know how it ended. I assume it went 10 innings. That's the usual for exhibitions.Duke 10 UT 7 after 7. Had to leave. First off I’ve had a bad day on the forum and am giving myself 2 errors. Observations: Duke is going to be a very good team and a threat in the ACC. Peyton, Nicola, and Karlyn pitched with Karlyn throwing a strong 3 innings. Took a nasty bouncing liner off her right leg but stayed in. Gave up a couple of hits but pitched well. We only had 4 hits and the 5 errors killed us. Highlights were Destiny’s 2 run double and she threw out a base runner in the 6th, McKenna’s 3 run blast, and Giulia had a nice game with 4 catches and a hit. Have to pitch better, tighten our D, left 6 or 7 on base as they walked a few too. I’m thinking we are going to have to find one more bat for the OF. Karen gave them all a good talking to after the 6th inning. Got some things to clean up but it’s fall and the talent is there.

It was 2-0 after 7. Pretty meh even with the freshmen going the 1st 5. CN threw a freshman also. They scored a majority in the 8th or 9th. Although, it was never really a game with Roger’s throwing when the Freshmen were in. Pitching was dominant all game16-0 final after 10. Ashley started and went 4, Charli 3, and Ryleigh 3. Ashley dominant, Charli threw a lot of ground balls which I liked, and Ryleigh struck out 9. The three gave up just 6 hits. Best thing is they threw strikes. Offensively got 18 hits including 2 HRs by Katie Taylor and one each by Kiki and Zaida. Destiny continues to hit with an rbi double in the first. Karen put our 2nd team behind Ashley. Camryn, Brylee, and Destiny in the OF, Jenna, Amanda, Taylor, and Grace in the IF with Jackie at C and Jami DP. In the 5th the starters came in with Rylie playing RF while Jackie caught the whole game and Katie was DP. If Katie starts hitting that sure does add to the mix but I noticed Destiny and Rylie got OF work. Jackie catches a nice game, balls are caught and she has a strong arm. I think we will have some competitive depth in the spring.

Oooo that one did hurt. I have learned that younger siblings of older players may not be as impactful. I am not saying that she won’t be or the leach twins, but it’s something I always think about. I wonder if she stays at OU. Given the talent they bring in with their recruiting let alone transfers I am expecting other players to transfer out to other schools.Kiki Milloy’s little sister committed to Oklahoma, that one hurts. Siblings are always weird, you’ve got the leach’s who all ended up at Tennessee, and then the Milloy’s who all did their own thing.
