I’d just wear a UT shirt or jacket and a Mizzou cap or vice versa if I were you, a la our honorary Vol fans from Pittsburgh who visited for the ‘21 Pitt game and came back for ‘22 Bama in orange shirts and Pitt caps.

Well, it has happened, our daughter will be going off to MIZZOU and I will have to wear MIZZOU merch. Is there apparel with both Mizzou and Tennessee on it? And if so, where can I buy it?

Now, I will have to add MIZZOU colors to my wardrobe.
SHE'S going to Mizzou, Your not!....Is she playing any sports there?...If not why would you want to wear those ugly colors...If my kid went to Florida I wouldn't just go out and buy Florida colors, This guy only wears the colors of TENNESSEE!...Might be awkward at thanksgiving but we'll get through it!

If my kid went to Florida... the problems would be a lot bigger than their colors.

Well to be honest Florida is a good school...I just really really hate thier sports programs and the people who support them and I hope they have 30 losing seasons in a row and never make another bowl game as long as I'm alive....But hey You can get a good education there.

Not Missouri, but I always crap on Arkansas. My Peruvian wife craps right back on me- she lived in the Ozarks for about a year right after she came to the US and said it's beautiful country. I'd love to get out and visit. Certainly better than where I am now by any measure, anyway.
What part of WV are you in ?

Know your situation all to well. I am a UT alum but my son attends Auburn (scholarship). However, he was born in TN and still a TN fan!!!

My baby girl stuck the knife in and turned it hard, twice! She went down to that god forsaken school in Tuscaloosa. She knows better than to buy me anything crimson and expect me to wear it. Bad enough to expose my horrible parenting skills, but to expect me to abandon the orange and white?? Nuh uh! Ain’t gonna happen on any planet. Ever!

I am sure you can buy a “mizzou dad” tshirt which perfectly implies your support of the school in which your child attends, all while wearing your Tennessee hat as to not betray your one true alliance.

I am sorry. That said, there is one or two exceptions to the “let it go if you love it” rule and a child wanting to attend bama/uf is it. Shoulda chained that girl up in the basement. Women who don’t know what’s good for them should not be let to be exposed to the danger that is tuscaloosa.

You too have failed letting your child attend the cesspool that is Gainesville. Hopefully your grandchildren aren’t born with scales.

My daughter graduated from Ohio State, got her masters degree from there as well. She would never want or expect me to ever own or wear any Buckeye merch. Not only that, she doesn’t own any either, but she sure has a bunch of Vols apparel.

You dont have to buy Mizzou gear. Just wear your normal UT gear and get one of those "hello my name is" stickers and write "temporary Mizzou fan for 4-7 years" as your name.

Just wear whatever Mizzou shirt and make sure you wear a bright orange UT hat on top of your head at all times. I think thats fair.

The Ozarks around Mountain Home are really nice, and the trout fishing in the White River below Bull Shoals Dam is fantastic. Much of the western part of the state doesn't offer anything aside from duck hunting in rice fields.

Duck hunting in rice fields sounds better than living in a pile of people, bureaucrats, and politicians like I do now.

Deer lord, i'm not sure. Even with lowered in state if I could stomach Misery. You must be one strong SOB.
Missouri is not that bad. Came here for a job straight out of grad school, then married a beautiful Missouri woman and the rest is history. She is now a vol fan. She bought me the golf cart. Now if you want to talk misery, I spent four years in Columbus getting my doctorate at Ohio State. Missouri seemed like heaven after 4 years among the Buckeye fans!

To be fair, maybe the father here just wants to be supportive of his daughter in his own, pretty much dad-humor-like, way? I didn’t get any sort of “her expecting/wanting/making him do this” vibes from the post.
