Reprimand Suggested for Nashville Metro Public Health Staff Member Who Upset Health Equity Director Stephanie Kang

Human Resources staff at Nashville’s Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) on Tuesday recommended that the department reprimand a high-ranking employee for offending Stephanie Kang, who directs the MPHD’s Bureau of Racial and Health Equity.

That employee, Brian Todd, serves as the director of communications for MPHD, according to an MPHD fact-finding report.

Investigators suggested that staff reprimand Todd — even though Kang provoked Todd by making an issue out of his race and gender, according to the report.

Todd is a white male.

Governors Laura Kelly (KS), Bill Lee (TN), Steve Bullock (MT), Gina Raimondo (RI), and Doug Ducey (AZ). These governors at least allowed some kids to be in class throughout late 2020 and early 2021. Raimondo was surrounded with lockdown warriors keeping kids out of class and businesses closed, and she kept more kids in school than any state in the northeast or mid-Atlantic. Not enough kids, but we’re on a curve.

I disagree with the premise of the rankings. While I agree that Lee is mostly a milquetoast governor, he for the most part left the decisions to shut down where they should be left and that's at the local level. He's since caved and signed bad legislation like DeSantis but for the most part Lee handled the pandemic correctly without letting his inner tyrant out.

Bill Lee is a moderate, plain and simple. He is acting exactly how I expecting him to act during the campaign. He is Haslem 2.0 (although I do think he is better than Haslem).

He will skirt the line on all issues and avoid giving any real opinion or taking any controversial side.
