I think the Vols will be with them early but will fade in the second half.

I think the vols will run with them but in the end texas by 12 at least, but less than 20

I think TN. can win but we have to shoot at least 60% and keep turnovers down to single digits, saying that it looks like it will be a tough row to hoe.

This is a chance to prove ourselves. We need to just focus on playing well and not what the score is. We can beat Oklahoma State, though.

I think most people believe that Texas will be the first shoe to drop...with a loud thud...but Tennessee, being the hounds they are, are use to running around without shoes. The Nike squeek at Texas may make more noise, but the Head Hound is loud and proud, and may be able chew up a few sneakers, while the pups knaw on they're bones. It may not be too pretty with Pearl having to line the floor with newspapers, but after the pee has dried, the Nikes may not be able to squeek, and then the longhorns will have to spend the rest of the season pick'n Pearl Poop out of thier shoes. Here's to a very smelly Christmas in Texas.

Texas will most likely be #1 in the nation when we play them, they've killed nearly every opponet they've played, we'll just be next on there list. Vols go down by 30.

Anyone remember the poster from Pearl's old school that was around here a lot when Bruce was first hired? I think the name was UWMsomething. Anyway, I thought for sure he'd be back when hoops started, but haven't seen him.

While I would love nothing better than a win... with the exception of the VOLS playing in the Rose Bowl next month, we'll probably get demolished.

Texas has big, talented inside players that we can't match up with, and great ball handlers to negate our pressure. We've only played one game on the road and it wasn't too impressive. We would have to play the game of the season, combined with Texas mailing it in, to win this one.

The only thing going in our favor, the Erwin Center is a morgue and school will be on winter break, so the crowd probably won't be a big factor.

I'm guessing I'll be the only member of the VN in attendence?

I think that we'll be Texas Toast. Texas has good depth, we don't. I suspect that we will be in foul trouble trying to keep up with Texas at times and we just don't have the bench like Texas.

On the other hand, anything can happen. Upsets happen all the time. In order for that to happen we'll need Wingate to step up and start rebounding. We'll need to hit a high percentage of shots. They have to work on getting Lofton some better looks more often. Other players like Asumnu, Smith, Patterson, Howell etc..will have to each have pretty good games. The list goes on and on.

Impossible? No. Improbable? Yes

txas by 20. i cant belive we got 8 votes. we cant be that confident after 5 games agasint bad teams can we?

Texas would pound us, it would'nt be 60-0 but the offence could'nt score anything,

Tennessee 98' ill take Tenn

but when the day is over "we are the real UT"

We haven't played bad teams. I agree, though, that no one should vote for the Vols on this Poll. I just want us to play well.

I agree. I think texas wins by less than 10. Escaping will be more apropriate. I think we'll be overlooked and underestimated....we lose but even so make it into the top 25. And I think we'll take Okla State...sit down Eddie Sutton......not a soul mentioned Ensure.

oh shoot i thought that this was a football thread too.. hhahahahaha. I will go with tennessee. going to get them after duke, they could be emotionally drained..

you guys are crazy, if you've seen either of those teams play you'd know we're going to get killed. We beat these small teams by wearing them down because they could only play 6 and 7 players, a team like Texas isnt going to wear down. We have a chance against OSU because there not that great this year but no way are we going to be Texas who if they win against Duke will be #1 in the nation.

IDK this is basketball, northern iowa did just beat iowa, and indiana state beat indiana? and we have no chance????
