Wasn't the fuselage atleast heated on the flying hotdog? The ride in the 135 was cold as hell, all the heat got sucked through the floor. Made me miss my C-17.

Those jets are quite old and a lot of them don't air condition the way they should. In fact, it's not really AC at all. It's a hot/cold switch with a few levels of each. Generally, it's better to be cold than hot. When it gets hot people start getting sick.

It could be heated but I don't remember, it was a while ago. I remember flying from a TDY, Miami back to Fort Walton Beach..packed full of people..all web seating, totally blew, comfort level was abysmal. Then they stopped using them thank god.

The only plane I remember having climate control was a C-17 and C-5. I flew mostly on C-130's and always had to bundle up like it was winter.

Kinda funny you all mentioned both those planes, my dad used to fly both. And you are correct, I've never ridden in one. I've been in both though and know the accommodations didn't look too comfortable lol.

And JL and FL Vol thanks to both of you if either of you served.

Np. Did 8 years in AFSOC and got to visit the sh!ttiest places on earth! I still had a blast. Thank god for birth control (Thats you, Czech Republic, that I'm talking to!)

I jave had the outflow valve stick open on two separate occasions. That means nothing but extremely hot air blowing into the fuselage constantly. Once on a flight to Sacramento. If we had passengers on board we would've had to divert. That's what you get on 1950's model airplanes.

You have never ridden in those things. They are really uncomfortable.

I had to fly as a passenger in one from Whidbey Island to Barbers Point in Hawaii. Longest, most uncomfortable flight ever!

If you were on a -135 it should have taken you around 5 - 5.5 hours. That's not so bad.
