Tennessee recruiting the state of Florida

Just based on everything I have seen, here is how I think UT finishes their class in regards to Florida prospects. Please remember that this is just my opinion....

-Chaz Green
-Jeff Luc
-Chris Dunkley
-Demar Dorsey
-1 surprise (Silberman, Elam, Joyner, etc)

wow dude that is quite a finish. I cant believe you are saying we are gonna get these guys considering you are a UF fan

Dunkley is just a hunch. Something is telling me that he ends up in Knoxville after this weekend. I think the game atmosphere for you guys will be electric and (using a Halloween term) Kiffin will "spook" Dunkley about our offense.

Are you a legit Gator? I wouldn't be surprised to see them get Luc or Green, but that's it out of that list. Dunkley is rocking a Gator shirt in his FB pic and has been to all the home games.

I am a HUGE Vol fan and this list is very optimistic--even for me--but a very attainable group nonetheless. I can definitely see us pulling Green and Luc...I honestly think both end up Vols from all I've heard in Knoxville. As long as Luc's mother makes it to town he is ours to lose.

Dorsey is ours if the visit goes as well as it could this weekend. As long as the Florida coaches can't talk him out of making the trip for his visit, I think we have a better a shot at him than the Gators do. It's great to hear about our facilities, but seeing them takes it to a whole new level. Also, the lure of playing under Monte Kiffin is simply an enormous draw.

My surprise would be Dunkley. We definitely have a shot with Nuke in his ear and CLK making up with everyone down in Pahokee. Never, ever count Gran out with a recruit in Florida. Dunkley would be a great addition to our WR corps especially with a few of our WR commits more than likely heading to defense.

As for the other 3 you mention as your surprise possibilities, I would LOVE to nab Silberman with our obvious needs on the OL. He would be a big time contributor from day 1 IMHO.

I've seen Joyner play 4 times this season and this kid just shows up and makes plays. It'd be awesome to see him end up in Knoxville, but I think he ends up at Ohio State. Whoever gets him is getting a future star.

I don't see us getting Elam after CUM got him one-on-one for their meeting and he reaffirmed his pledge to the Gators. I think we honestly put the fear in CUM when he came to town and walked away very impressed. However his recruitment plays out, he's a gamer. Would love to have him in orange and white also.

Tennessee is a force to be reckoned with in Florida and will be for quite some time. We are ripping it up in Georgia right now and looking pretty good in South Carolina and Alabama as well. This staff has already proven they are worth every penny with their stellar recruiting and earlier than expected(IMO) improvements on the field--especially on offense.

GO BIG ORANGE...REEL 'EM IN!!!!

UT seems to be in good shape with Christian Jones after the visit. I also agree with the Dunk to the gators too.

Elam's a Gator and Dorsey is not a Vol. I don't know where he will end up, but I don't think it will be UT. There is a chance that FSU fixes their staff and gets Jones back, but I like our chances right now...

Dorsey will be a Vol IMO....He wont stick with UF when we bring in Shaw and Kiffin wants to "steal" another prospect from UF. I don't think he would be in your class if he was commited to say Wisconsin, but since he is a UF commit Kiffin wants him more.

Well I pray that my name will appear on this forum one day, as im going to be 2nd string QB on my Varsity team next year as a Freshman, and ill be working my ASS off to be a vol. I never will be a 5 or 4 star recruit, but if I was Number one in the land, UT wouldnt even have to call, im signing

I think by the end of the 2011 season, our team could very well have 8 or more starters from Florida. We're in on some big time 2011 and 2012 FL players also, as Kiffin was out to at least two FL high schools specifically visiting '11 & '12 recruits during the off-week. As much talk as there is about GA and Atlanta specifically, I believe we are seeing the most success in Florida. Hopefully FSU and Miami continue struggling beyond this season (well, I wouldn't say Miami is "struggling" at all but Shannon's not brought them "back" yet, imo).

The FL recruits we have committed, leaning, or are still in on (some towards the bottom are likely "fall back options"):
Michael Palardy
Ted Meline
Delvin Jones
Jeff Luc
Chaz Green
Christian Jones
Matt Elam
Terrance Mitchell
Demar Dorsey
Christian Green
Ian Silberman
Cody Riggs
Corey Lemonier
Joshua Reese
Nickell Robey
Todd Chandler

Some FL recruits I could see starting at some point next season or in 2011:
Palardy, Luc, Chaz Green, C. Jones, Elam (long shot, granted), T-Rex, the TE from Dwyer we're after who's a jr this season, Teddy Bridgewater, etc

My point is, the state of Florida has become a priority for this staff and it will likely be the area we will one day look back at and attribute to rebuilding a championship team (much like Gardner and recruiting GA was attributed towards the late 90s run). I believe we'll have a lot of success in Florida this season.

Palardy, Luc, C. Jones, Chaz Green seem to be ours to lose at the moment. If we can pull a good DB or two from the group of Elam, Dorsey and T-Rex, then we'll have our foundation for the team residing from the state of FL in just one recruiting season!
