Tennessee Softball 2024

Couldn't see the game but was going to ask how she looked. Was she tested enough to know. I posted an article earlier today that Karen said she may be the best defensive SS to ever play for LV's so was curious.
I thought Bella Faw looked really good, not just for the last diving catch and for her speed going after a foul, but also for her confident and mature manner on the field. She doesn’t act like a Freshman. Looking forward to watching her play more.

Always great to get an opening day win, doesn't matter who the opponent is. I thought that Payton looked really good and I can tell she was trying to mix in a couple of new pitches, but it was very clear that she was locked in from the start. I was also very impressed with Charlie although she only pitched the last inning, her demeanor on the mound, her confidence, and it seems her drop/change combo can be very useful if used against the right lineups. As far as the defense goes, it is actually very refreshing that we are able to put in secondary players and still have a good hitting team, I really love the versatility of a lot of these players. Offensively, we are extremely good, granted UTA pitching is not the strongest, but once we get comfortable against better pitching this will be a scary lineup for any pitcher.

Good win for the Lady Vols, good to see Charli get out of that fifth inning jam. The real test starts tomorrow against Baylor. Anxious to see what Karlyn can throw at them.

Drop is a nice pitch for cheap ground outs and eat up innings if teams don’t drop the barrel.
