First post all weekend after that Friday night travesty we got some good pitching today and homeruns provided us the runs. Pickens slowly starting to revert back to last season started out great and ended up badly. Will be a big game for her tomorrow we need her to regain her dominance.

I thought the announcers did a better job today than the two we had last night. I did turn the sound down after they announced for at least the 10th time that State run ruled Tennessee yesterday. Knowing that a large percentage of State's fans were at the game, I decided they were just trying to gaslight their audience which had to be predominately Tennessee fans.

They did mention a tidbit about State's preparation for Pickens that was interesting. Accounting for Karlyn's stride they moved their pitching machine to 35 feet and then dialed in Pickens' speed.

That plan coupled with a State fan's post here last night that State cancelled their midweek game ( weather related), gave State a solid week to prepare for KP. State is a good hitting team but they went all in on beating Karlyn. Based on todays result not sure they focused on Payton at all.

Nice bounce back game! Great to see Kiki hit and Payton pitch another gem. Also a great day in that the 2nd (FL), 3rd (Ta&m), and 4th (ARK) place teams all lost. We are now 2 up in the loss column. Be nice to come home with a series win tomorrow.

Pickens was not good but we are acting like she gave up a bunch of runs. She had no d behind her yesterday either. She will be fine. I just hope we adjust to hitting the off speed a little more.

They hit Pickens better than any club this year and our defense let her down also .Despite that they only got 4 runs off Pickens. Yes ,the LV's need to adjust to slow pitching and hit it out of the park so their good defensive club can not get to it .....thought their defense was key in beating us Friday nite,

I know that I complained a lot friday night about the offense, but I will say that there were a couple of batters that made solid contact but their defense had a life game and just made plays. I do expect them to adjust to the slower pitching today and be more aggressive in the box, it worked yesterday and so why not keep that mindset in the box
