Believe Murphey said it in his press conference….Bama puts the ball in the play to put pressure on the defense, Tennessee hits the long ball. Mistakes happened on both sides yesterday where the opposing team benefited on the scoreboard. Can anyone figure out why our hitting is so bad compared to all the teams left in the playoffs. What aren’t we doing to make that next step. It just feels like we can’t win a game by out hitting a team. Hoping a team makes mistakes for us to win. If Alabama’s 2B doesn’t make an error on that routine play we get upset.
If Gibsons first hit a rope (If) it would have been a foot higher it's a homer by a mile, about knocked the fence down. We were hitting better than Bama just right at their D, it happens. They were getting on with junk and uncharacteristic pitching control by KP. LVs hit well the prior 3 games while shutting out the opponents. Can anyone figure out why our hitting is so bad compared to all the teams left in the playoffs. They are facing very good pitching. Remember we scored , I think 3 runs against Alabama in the last series we played them, but won 2 of 3 games. Also, remember, they scored only I run, I think, against us in that series. You do not win many softball games unless you have very good pitching. Most of the runs scored byAlabama and The Lady VOLs yesterday were unearned. Can anyone figure out why our hitting is so bad compared to all the teams left in the playoffs. I love tight games when it’s not my team playing. When my team is playing I want to see ruthless run rule games won by UT.While it's always great to see the LV's run rule a team, the best softball games for me are those tight, low scoring, well played games. Good pitching, a timely hit or homer and maybe a team takes advantage of someone's muscle to win...
Ifs and buts. If west didn’t bobble a routine single, they don’t score in inning 1. If G doesn’t get lost at first, we save a run. As a coach of softball, there is a lot that can be said about just putting the ball in play. Can anyone figure out why our hitting is so bad compared to all the teams left in the playoffs. Come on, G has made many mistakes in the field here lately. Dez had as much to do with the decision as G, probably more.Ifs and buts.
