Tennessee Softball 2025

Shout out to Gabby!
Sophia Nugent put it to her ex team tonight. You know she had to like that. You could tell by the sheer joy on her face how much she enjoyed that. What a great clutch player. Cheers to Sophia, Karlyn, Laura and especially to Gabby Leach for that marvelous throw from the outfield. Nobody does that throw better than Gabby. She bounces the ball perfectly and sets up Sophia to make the tag. She's done that in other games this season too. I also think her sister Alannah should be playing more in left field instead of just the late innings. Morgan is not contributing like she did earlier in the season. She has become just another ho-hum slap hitter. Give Alannah some starts and see how she does.

Nice statement win by Lady Vols last night. Going into Oklahoma and defeating that juggernaut is a big accomplishment so far this season. Need to take one of next two and leave on a high, knowing we can beat the best in a series...
Truly a mountaintop victory! OU women had won 8 NCAA titles, including 4 consecutive 2021-24!
NORMAN — A blast from Oklahoma’s past haunted the Sooners on Friday night.
Sophia Nugent, who played two seasons in Norman, clutched up for Tennessee in the eighth inning.

She launched a two-run bomb to put the Volunteers in front, and a wild pitch by OU’s Sam Landry gave Tennessee another insurance run before handing the game over to ace pitcher Karlyn Pickens to close out the win.

The lineup we put on the field last night is the best we have win or lose. Glad to see Dodge at second and Mealer at Shortstop. Very glad to see Doyle back hope they will let her stick in there she has power may not have a huge average right now, but when she hits one it goes. One and two hitters didn't even get on last night but once or twice, but we need to keep that speed up there. When they do get on what follows Pannell, Gibson, and Nugent is the way it should be. Our best chance to score runs speed then power.

With the transfer portal you can't stock AA's 2-3 deep any more like OK used to. Hopefully it is leading to more parity in all sports. Get something good from it.
The lack of pitching is OU’s problem right now. We have a top Freshman Lowery that’s injured and the top high school pitcher Bordi who is an early in Raleigh and on campus now… Next year are pitching should be back to what we’re accustomed to
