Tennessee Softball 2025

Disappointing day! It will be interesting who’s in the circle tomorrow. Not sure you start Karlyn after lengthy relief today. Maybe Sage again and hope for a better day or Erin??? I have no clue. Need to scratch and claw to a win tomorrow to start conference play with a series win.

You go with Pickens, she gives your best chance to win. UGA will be trying to go back with Backes or an untested player.

I think you are correct. I just hate to use her this many innings in the first series. But we want to win the series. I just hope going forward Sage/Erin can handle the middle game without us using Karlyn.

I would say Sage will start and they will try to get as many innings out of her as they can. We get the lead, if its 1 or 2 runs, odds are better we see Kar than Erin or Peyton.

We have 5 pitchers and we can’t expect Pickens to play every game. They have to be hardened in difficult situations even if you lose a game or not. Decisions lately have been perplexing at best. Just my opinion and not being critical. As Socrates said “The only thing I know is that I know nothing “.

Erin handled Georgia just fine, Sage did not. As I said before, I don't think Sage will stand up to SEC batters. Erin needs to be the number two pitcher and not Sage. I have nothing against Sage, I just think Erin is the better pitcher. I also think Weekly made a mistake in pulling Erin too early. Like mentioned, you don't want to put too many innings on Karlyn, you'll wear her out, she's only human. You may have seen some of that fatigue today in the late innings. I'm not sure who I would start tomorrow, maybe Peyton or Erin and see how they do. If they get into trouble early, put in Karlyn.

You can always use another pitcher as an opener see how the game is going for two or three innings. Pitching was fine yesterday after Sage was lifted. Hitting bogged down you haven't figured out a pitcher after 130 pitches not going to happen.

We have a year sample size of her against SEC hitters, right under 3 ERA. Erin may be the better of the two in the end, if that’s the case we are in trouble this year.

On the road if you don’t score in the first at bat that’s not an ideal situation, you want a run or two to help take the pressure off. Last thing you want is playing from behind when the pull is made if the home team somehow manages 1+.

Really need a series win today cause we have road series at Texas and Oklahoma. If we could go 6 and 6 on the road and 10 and 2 at home that would probably be good for third or fourth. I don't see us winning the conference this season don't look like we have a consistent number 2 pitcher this year like we did last season.

Crap. I was feeling good about Tennessee closing this series out with a win -- IF Karen put the ball in Pickens' hands. Rainouts are such a bummer. 😥
Over to baseball see if theam can keep the undefeated season going. Should be no problem considering the first two games of the season.
