Crap... My in-laws worship Coach K and Duke... This is all I will hear about for the next few months and if Duke wins it will be a year.

You're related to a very rare form of Duke fan indeed; ones that proceated.

But I guess if it wasn't for other Duke fans, Duke fans would never get laid.

wesrucker247: What would JaJuan Smith do? What would Ron Slay do? They'd put on headbands and trashtweet the Dookies into Bolivian.

wesrucker247:Dear Tennessee basketball players on Twitter: Vols of old would have already started trashtalking Duke by now.

Really?? Someone tell this goofball that we have a coach that instills discipline now.

I didn't know those two spoke Bolivian.

Sorry it's so small; I had to do a lot of shizz to make it as big as it is.

The times in the parentheses are EST.

Duke won't be any good this year. The only talent they'll have on their team will be freshmen, which means that they will take a lot of abuse this year. Getting them in the Pre-Season Maui Invitational, UT (even as bad as they will be) may have a shot at beating Duke's freshmen. Be glad UT isn't playing Duke at the end of the year, by which time Duke's talented freshmen will have gained a lot of experience. Be really glad that UT doesn't play UNC. That would be really ugly this year.

Mason Plumlee is much better than anyone UT has down low. Seth Curry is also better than most of the Volunteers, and he's not a freshman either.

I'm calling the W. We have not a damn thing to lose. Not even dignity or pride because it's been gone for awhile.
Score will be in the 50's but we take the game, 59-56.
I'll be claiming I called it if it hits, and I'll claim you misheard the prediction if it misses.

It is frustrating that every other team in Maui, with the exception of maybe Memphis, is going to be at less than their standard and UT is not in a position to capitalize.

I'm trying to figure out why Duke is playing UT while UCLA gets Chaminade. Seems like the favorites should be switched.

As I mentioned in the other thread, K may be attempting to tie or break Knight's record in the first game in Maui. My guess is that ESPN didn't want him doing that against Chaminade.

Duke put a stipulation on their participation in Maui, that they wouldn't get paired with Chaminade. That's why this whole tournament seems off-kilter. It should be:

Duke-Chaminade
UCLA-Michigan
Kansas-Georgetown
Memphis-UT

However, I'm happy that Memphis and UT aren't paired up as we've got a game later in the year. We could meet in the second round, though.

I also read somewhere that Coach K (or Duke) has a policy against playing Division II schools. Also ESPN is desperately hoping for a Duke vs Kansas or Duke vs UCLA final for ratings purposes.

I was a Duke fan long before I went to school at UT (my Dad is Duke alumni). I have been waiting for this game for YEARS!!! I'm beyond excited but I realize this will be a rough year for UT basketball. I'd been hoping we'd schedule Duke, like we did Kansas or UConn but I can't see Coach K doing that (I'm not stupid I know he don't wanna play an away game like that). I just wish this game would have been closer, I would have gone in a heartbeat. Maui is a little out of my budget :(
