Another really good restaurant is The Park Grill in Gatlinburg. It's under the same ownership as The Peddler.

Second on Abrams Falls and Alum Cave Bluffs if you're looking for some hikes. Also I'm not sure what the conditions would be like right now or if it's open in the winter, but Rich Mountain Road is a nice scenic drive. Entrance is in Cades Cove and it comes out in Townsend.

You can also ice skate at Ober Gatlinburg.

What other places did you guys try, curious to hear your thoughts?

For dinners we did The Old Mill, The Alamo, and The Peddler. Peddler might have been the best steak I've had in a long long time. All 3 were outstanding meals. Apple Barn is always great as well, went twice. Some Krispy Kreme for dessert.

Got to Cade's Cove at sunrise and saw a nice black bear. Ranger said they had been hard to find this year. Tons of deer, a few turkeys, and some amazing views made for an awesome morning.

Went hiking at Laurel Falls and wanted to do Chimney Tops but they were closed due to the snow/ice they had gotten up in the mountains.

Cabin we stayed in was great as well. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely amazing trip for us. My heart will always be in the mountains and cold weather.

That's awesome! You literally ate at some of the best restaurants in the Sevierville/PF/Gatlinburg area and you still hit up the Krispy Kreme, that's hysterical! Please tell me you even managed to catch it when the HOT sign was on? Those sugar glazed donuts are glazed with crack I'm telling you.

Any details on The Alamo? Sorry you didn't get to do the Chimney's. It's one of my favorite hikes, fairly short in terms of hikes but steep and the view at the top is worth it. Friends and I got caught in a rainstorm once heading back down the trail.

So my fiancee is taking me to Fairfield Glade for my b-day this weekend. She told me she went online to look for things to do while we are there. She said it appears that unless we are going to play golf, all we will have to do is each other.

I told her my sticks are already put up for the winter...
