Programs/coaches reach out to family members/AAU coaches/people close to players all of the time. Happens everywhere. Heck, Collins could have called Kennedy Chandler himself and just inquired about his time at UT. It doesn't mean that a school is tampering. This is not unusual.

Your point that it would be hard for him to be a lock without interference is valid. The interest came from Collins through assistants. Barnes did the right thing and said he can’t have that conversation until he’s in the portal. Now he’s in the portal. I don’t know a lot of specifics beyond that, but I assume that answers your question (sort of?).

I would estimate that probably 90% of quality transfers have a pretty good idea of where they are heading

Yeah, I don’t think there’s a reason to pussyfoot around it. With the transfer market and NIL and an NCAA incapable/unwilling to really enforce it, the cat is out of the bag.

He is a sports guy in St. Louis. He does both radio and TV Sports so he obviously follows SLU.

Call it what you will, but yes, yesterdays indescretions are todays realities. Collins is a Vol, and that is also the thought of a very prominent SLU booster.
