Phillips' decision is going to loom pretty large, IMO.

An off-season haul of Phillips, Key, Likekele, Jefferson, and Awaka is a solid haul.

An off-season haul of Key, Likekele, Jefferson, and Awaka is not good, at least not for the upcoming season.

Jefferson and Awaka could be special developmental pieces and play a huge role down the line, but I don't think you can count on them to break through for major minutes next year considering what we bring back.

Key and Likekele would be your one-year, instant "impact" players and I don't feel personally that either of those guys brings this team's ceiling above where it rests now. Good depth pieces. Not enough, IMO, to get this team over the hump to Final Four contender.

Someone told me some of the names we see popping now put in their paperwork before the deadline, so even though it shows them entering after May 1st, they'll still be eligible because they put their paperwork in beforehand.

Disclaimer: This is just something I was told. I have zero idea of the validity. It could be true, it could be false. I DO NOT KNOW. But it was something I was told.

This is true, but paperwork will likely become public by the end of this week. If it's not "announced" by Friday, they likely aren't jumping in the portal.

Can't remember where, but I saw someone say "UT is the "early" leader for Lofton" it was probably by someone irrelevant because I was scrolling pretty quickly.

Would be a big pick up.

Awaka is a beast, man. I don't think he's a future SEC all freshman player, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him come in and make an impact as a first year kid. He's tough, built pretty well, fluid and has a good motor. His film from jr year to his senior is night and day different which shows he's a hard worker. Dude went from coming off the bench to winning NY gatorade POY and leading his team to a state championship.

Still no word on timeline RE: Phillips, even though he cancelled the KSU visit? That surely has to mean something...

This is correct. This past Sunday was the deadline, but schools have 48 hours to put the names into the database. It's why Jordan Addison (WR from Pitt) just popped up yesterday.

There's a story from this morning on a KSU site that says Phillips is still visiting there this weekend. No idea if it's correct or not though.

We don't need to land everyone but if we pull 2 or 3 quality guys that can contribute I like our chances. We know Barnes can win with less and we know he can develop talent...

Just pointing out for others who don't read so well, he stated "commit this week", not commit to US this week. Jumping on that before people run away with hope just yet. I'm fine that he took his time, but I am ready for it to be over. Hope it's good news for us.

Commit would imply either us or auburn, not G league. But we shall see!
