Tennessee vs. Brevard Exhibition Game Thread 11/3 7:30 PM

Looked good. Have areas to improve in, but after seeing them play together....well, we have got a helluva team. :)

GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Me too, but we played our entire bench. It's hard to break 100 when you're playing the entire bench, because the other team is trying their hardest to keep it from happening.

Clarification: Hard to break 100 when you're playing your entire bench with some Freshman walk-ons. (i.e. Summitt et al., although he did play well for what little he played).

Hard to tell on the feed: is SH sporting the flat top? And, is Brevard the worst team in the country?

Probaby not the worst team in the country. Tennessee will be a top ten team this year. We are quality two deep at every position. Pg= Goins and Golden. SG= Hopson and Mcbee/Tatum at times, SF= Tatum/McRae/Woolridge, PF=T.Harris/Maymon/Fields/Pearl/Hall/Wooldridge, C=B. Williams/Fields/Hall(if neccesary).
We are going to beat down Kentucky this year (especially if Kanter doesn't become eligible). However, Kentucky might be one of three or four teams that can get away with that crap. Either way, the Vols still sweep them this year. Look for Georgia, Florida, and Vandy to be dangerous in the East though. The SEC east may be the toughest division in basketball this year. Go VOLS!:w00t:

Like I said before. Jordan McRae will redshirt this season.

Did you call Bray redshirting?

Tatum may well be hurt on and off all season.

Jordan McRae is the guy who the other players are most impressed by in terms of being better than he was advertised, and he was a top 50 player coming out of HS.

Goins
Hopson
McRae
Harris
and Williams

would be a stud lineup.

Having an entire 2nd team that could beat some SEC teams in

Golden
McBee
Tatum
Maymon
Fields

shows how incredibly much deeper this team is than any that Pearl has ever had.

That second team would get abused by good perimeter players on the defensive end.

Golden is supposed to be improving by leaps and bounds defensively going against Goins.

People continue to think that McBee is not ever going to be able to play defense. It is just not the case. He is an incredibly hard worker who is not so physically limited that he cannot stay in front of someone. If the SG is lighting him up on 2nd team, we always have Bone. I have doubts about whether or not post injury Bone will show the defense that made people fall in love with him, but we have a decent 2nd team defense.

Also, lots and lots of teams do not have anyone great on the perimeter.

UK last year bricking one three after another that are gobbled up by Maymon and Fields off the glass would be an example if you can follow a hypo from last year and a frontcourt duo that has not played in a game yet.

Awesome depth. That is the main point.

McRae wasn't very impressive. Will he really be able to play against physical teams like Pitt and in the SEC?
