Tennessee vs. Florida Pregame Discussion

GO BIG ORANGE.
Should be a good ballgame. Our defense needs to improve some. Looked like they had a hard time locating the ball at times. Chief will have them ready for UF. Offense looked much improved over last years. EA seems to have his confidence back. He doesn't look so confused like last year. For the most part our recievers are catching the ball and getting positive yardage after first contact. O line is opening up some holes for our backs and giving good pass protection. Not to sure about special teams though.

Go GATORS!

I cannot wait until next weekend to see how my team handles some real competition! I'm feeling pretty confident after this weekend too...:dance2:

Whomever wins, will control the line of scrimmage and win the running battle.
*This is the formula for the winner of this series more times than not.*

In that case............let the tear ducts open..........

4 things we need to do for Florida.

1. Control the ball. We only controlled 29 min aginst AFA. And aginst Cal.
2. Hold on to the ball. Turn overs won't cut it aginst Florida. 2 to AFA and 2 to Cal. 2 to Florida will be 14 pts.
3. RUN, RUN, RUN. We have to have more than 79 yds rushing. We had 216 yds aginst Cal. 32 attempts aginst AFA and 41 attempts aginst Cal.
We need 50+ aginst Florida.
4. Defense. You think Florida won't be watching the AFA-Tn game film?

Well thats the way I see it.

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!

I tell you what, Guys, with the injuries to Justin, Ramone, and more especially Inky, I'm not as confident as I was. Corner was a position where we didn't have much depth anyway, and now we have lost one of our best ones. Ramone was only a backup, but I think he would be starting for several other SEC teams, and we know what losing Justin would mean. I'm not as worried about the RB situation, because Montario looks very good running the ball. I want Arian to get well, but I think for now we should be o.k. there. Hopefully, our coaches can plug some guys in there who can get the job done. I'm not rying to be pessimistic or anything, but these injuries to some of our main players really worries me.

GO VOLS!!!!!!!

I agree that the injuries will hurt, but I can see Karl having a very big night, and Mitchell ,IMO, is a sleeper on the verge of a breakout game.

Just a couple of random thoughts....

1. The AF game reminded me of a game or 2 during the '98 NC season Anyone remember Syracuse? or Arkansas? Even a perfect season isn't always perfect.

2. I think the close call will be good for practice this week. If just playing the gators isn't enough, the realization that they only beat AF by a point should put a little urgency into the preparation this week.

3. Who else thinks UF will have a QB controversy after the game this week?

More times than not, the UT-UF showdown will come down to which team has the best rushing game. I think our passing game is good but, UF will key on that if our rushing is not where it needs to be. Foster and Hardesty will both need to have a standout game to take the heat off of our passing. As evidenced in our first two games, Ainge has his confidence back and is looking good. But everyone here knows UF will be trying to get to him all night long.

good call, vmb. very similar to the syracuse game, 'cept that syracuse was a ranked team (i think).

i'm clearly not the first person who has said this, but injuries could be a concern for us. i hope a couple of those guys get healthy.

chris leak is soft.

After listening to the post game show and the CPF show I believe we will be okay. The AF game was a fluke, sure we missed some chances to put the game away. But this game will humble us so we can get our heads on straight. I can tell you down here in FL, the overconfident fans are already on the bandwagon. I would love to go to work next Monday with a smile on my face, and simply say "yall played a good game." Good things come to those who wait. And it is our time. I predict our defense will get it together and take down the short-stack known as Chris Leak. Go Big Orange.:nono: :)

Syracuse and Arkansas in 1998 were not mid majors. Huge difference, IMO.

True, and as noted, Syracuse was ranked. My point is the same though; as in golf, it doesn't matter how, just how many!:) (Tho in todays BCS world, I guess you can argue that point!)

If a Vol player can't get focused and preped for this game he needs to pack his bags. If we only won 1 game a year this is the one.

Well uh... this game just got a lot tougher.

Thankfully it looks like the Vols have an offense this year that can put up some points.

Hopefully guys step up and take up the slack for Johnson and Harrell.
