Tennessee vs Kentucky Game Thread

The last two possessions were completely disorganized. It's hard to believe we couldn't get a better shot.

It's really hard to believe that we couldn't get it in the hands of Lofton. Our chances of winning at the buzzer would've gone up considerably. But as usual, he wasn't available for the open look.

Who took the last shot? Watson?

Those are the situations where most teams would either pound it into the post or penetrate and kickout, but we're not very good at either of those.

Watson had a decent look at the very end that would have won the game for us, but he just couldn't knock it down.. he was 5 for 15 for the game.... but I'm still very surprised that Bradshaw didn't call timeout after Crawford's miss and the rebound in order to set up a shot for Lofton to win it. Very odd.

I, too, am extremely pissed off. So many easy missed shots, missed free throws (JaJuan missing the front end of the 1-and-1 was HUGE)... defensive lapses, like the set play out of the timeout that resulted in the Morris slam.

Major has just been a liability in the last few games. (one could argue, all season.) He scored a few points tonight, but he does so many BAD things, doesn't rebound, doesn't put the ball up with confidence. He'll start next year, since he'll be a senior. Maybe that Big Man Camp will help him or something.

Yeah, I think it was CJ. It wasn't Lofton, they guy was moving too quickly to be Chris.

I say sit him down until he figures out how to play the post. At least he got 4 rebounds tonight. That's 3 more than his last 2 games total.

It's what we've known all year though. We're going to get outrebounded, give up a high shooting percentage and we're going to live and die with Lofton.

have fun in the NIT Randolph
With a win over the #11 team this late, the Polecats probably just got into the Big Dance, not the Little one.

That doesn't stop Redick or Morrison any.....

EXACTLY. If people are so quick to compare Lofton to Redick, he needs to get himself in aposition to have a go at it.

Hope this isn't a sign of the rest of our games.

Still disappointed over how the last few seconds went down. I just don't get it.

Lofton isn't Redick yet, but if he keeps going, he has a great chance to be. He's one of the most gifted shooters we've seen in a long time.

I was re-watching the last 8 seconds of the game, and it looked like when Bradshaw grabbed the board after Crawford's missed free throw, he was hesitant whether to call time out or bring it up. I think that that hesitation killed UT's chance at a better shot.

What do you guys think?

Link to video of last 8 seconds.

By the way, I hope for a rematch in the SEC tourney. it's really fun to have a rivalry again!

Good win for UK, should get them a tourney birth after this. Who'd have thought UK would need a win over UT to get into the dance??

Well, we hadn't been in that situation before so I don't blame him. It was still a great game anyway.

It is good to have a rivalry again. I think CBP is going to start having us compete on recruiting w/ UK. We need to get a couple more Loftons. It is good to see UK isn't walking into a game vs. UT having already won mentally. They have done that for years.
