Tennessee vs. Penn State scores?

Tennessee: 35
Penn. State: 14

UT: 0 14 7 14
PSU: 0 7 0 7

Erik Ainge: 23 of 28 for 311 yards 3 TD's

Robert Meachem: 7 catches for 127 yards 2 TD's

Jayson Swain: 5 catches for 89 yards 1 TD's

LaMarcus Coker: 19 rushes for 117 yards 1 TD

Jonathan Hefney: 9 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 INT for TD

Note Tennessee will be wearing away uniforms:realmad:

It's gonna be tough to score 6 TDs and end up with 35 points.

PSU will likely run the ball for 150-200 yards and shorten the game. We'll probably have ~7 possessions, score on 3-4 of them for about 20 points.

Question is, can we hold them to under 20?

With all due respect, I'm going to say that Tennessee will likely not score 5 TDs against PSU's defense. I'm not here to talk trash, but rather discuss the game. The Lions only gave up 2 offensive TDs to Ohio State in the Horseshoe and forced Troy Smith to throw 2 picks and holding him to his worst game of the season 12/22 115 yards 1 TD 2 INTs. OSU had 250 yards of total offense in that game as well. PSU also held Michigan in check, losing 17-10 with a chance to tie on their last drive(which may have been possible if we weren't on our 3rd QB). PSU held Henne to under 200 yards of passing. I'm not saying Penn State will win the game, but by no means will it be a blowout. I'd look for this type of score:

Tennessee 10
Penn State 7

Or

Penn State 13
Tennessee 10

Good luck, and I just want to see a good game.

Welcome to the board. I can't argue with what you said. It's going to depend on which Tennessee squad shows up. I do think that the prospect our players having a month to get healthy will help us out tremendously though..

It's true ... anyone predicting UT to score over 27 or so is probably just wishful thinking. Anything can happen, but PSU's defense is solid.

They did give up 27 to Minnesota and 41 to Notre Dame. However, in their last 6 games, PSU allowed:

12, 0, 13, 0, 14.

Partner you will have no trouble holding PSU to under 20 pts..The problem is scoring on PSU...If it comes down to defense ya'll lose..If you can pass on us ya'll win...Your running game won't be much of a factor and believe me our passing game is a joke...Looking forward to a great game with no injuries..

pretty well ticked about the gators playing for a NC while we are playing Penn friggin State!...i predict that Penn State will have more fans than us...and let's not forget the last time we played Penn State in a bowl game. Paterno and company waxed our butts with the Vols playing a QB named Shuler!.....Let's sum up the day...Colts lose by a 60 yarder....Florida goes to the National Champ game...Tennessee chosen to play Roast Beef State in the Charmin toilet bowl.......Lady Vols still don't have an inside game and can't throw it in the ocean (contagious in K-town) gets beat by Carolina!.......PRETTY SUCKY SPORTS WEEKEND!
