I love it when people compare war, religion and football! Yes, considering that more than half of our team is black and probably supported the Union's stance, they need to understand their confederate roots and embrace the war sentiments from a confederate leader who probably wanted to see them enslaved on a cotton field for generations to come. And yes, the Almighty is very concerned about the state of our great team. Surely the lord our God will smite any team that stands before the big orange because God is a Tennessee Vol, right? Please, football is simply football. Let's respect the memories of those who died before us by remembering what they died for, not adding to or taking away from it. And let's also put into perspective that God is not a fan of any one specific team. If He was, I'm pretty sure they would win every year.

John Majors once quipped that he and Billy Graham had something in common: they both could cause 100,000 people to stand and shout, "JESUS CHRIST!"

If Gruden came to Tennessee and said that, I'm pretty sure he could get the same results. But those in attendance who are shouting Jesus would all be shouting it for different reasons. Most people go to hear Billy Graham to get learn about and develop a relationship with God. They would be shouting Jesus because they are there for Jesus. Most people go to a football stadium to see a football game. But football is God to many of the people here in Tennessee. The coach who brings their team victories can grab a microphone and tell the fans to drink a beer for every touchdown they make and most fans would do it, even if they're driving home.
