Tennessee vs Vandy Game This Year

Better two steps from Hell walking away than a thousand miles away walking toward Hell. Rebuilding will take a bit of time unfortunately.

Good Quote. I just used that as well after I read it in "You Can Go Home Again" by Johnny Majors.

How so? Didn't they lose key players on offence like Zach Stacey and don't they have QB issues or at least questions?

Yeah, they lost some players. But so did UT. Franklin led Vandy to one of it's best seasons ever, including a beatdown on the Vols. I hope as much as anyone they suck again, but Franklin has brought some fight into the Vandy program.

Key loss for the Vols..... Dooley. Coached to lose that game. Don't want to keep kicking dirt on him so I'll stop here.

Says the Alabama fan on VOLNATION.

I don't treat the Vols like they aren't deserving of respect.

If I harped on Ole Miss like some on here do with Vandy, that would be an apt comparison. But I don't bother with Ole Miss, because they aren't worth thinking about, let alone discussing ad nauseum.

If you don't respect a program or their coach, constantly posting about the subject is a weird way to show it.

Do you not see the irony? Merely pointing it out.

Spot on. Vandy is getting way to much attention. They threw a dart and drew a bullseye where it landed. I may get blasted but I can respect the tide as a long time foe, Vandy, meh. They'll be candy mush by the end of the season.

There's no way you could have been over 10 or under 40 in the mid 90s and not know that song. That record was massive.

She hit her popularity when I was stationed in Japan. Thankfully, she fizzled out prior to me returning stateside.

We're derailing this thread. I'll concede this time to get back to all Vandy, all the time talk. :hi:

Actually, there is a way and a simple one at that, that someone may not know the song. I got three friends who would qualify and they're all Knoxville natives to boot.

Message boards are really good at displaying what fans are obsessed with and who's in their heads.....no matter what they actually say in the threads.

I agree 100%...so many people say vandy is garbage and Franklin sux...but people still keep talking about them on VN....Franklin is showing they are relevant and VN is just adding fuel to the fire

I don't care what anyone says Pride of the Southland blows away Spirit of Gold.

I'm thinking maybe Freak could start an "All Things Vandy" sub forum so the main ff isn't always cluttered with Vandy threads.

I really hope Butch beats Franklin. We'll see.

IMO, if we get the chance to absolutely embarrass Franklin and Vandy, Butch will do it. This would be a strategic move on his part as well. If we blow the doors off of Vandy (pun intended more or less), it will give Butch recruiting firepower for instate and owning Tennessee as well as embarrass Vandy and kill whatever hype they may have going on at the time during their creampuff schedule.

I agree completely. In securing the borders of Tennessee from all "enemies, foreign and domestic," Butch will do everything in his power to put Vanderbilt in the rear view mirror, thus assuring that Tennessee lands virtually every instate prospect that they truly want.
