As bad as this was, it does not top 2022 South Carolina.

The defense was so bad in that game, that if I was the coach, I would have literally substituted out all 11 players. South Carolina acted like we didn't even have a defense on the field. It was one of the worse defensive performances that I have ever seen in Football, period.

Injuries and talent depth also killed us tonight. Nico took too many hits (they cracked the guy’s helmet). Sampson was out at RB. White was out. Just a perfect storm.

Ohio State owned us. No whining about refs or home field or whatever. They owned us. Hopefully, we will go back to the drawing board and learn from this and be a better team next year.

At least we were somewhat relevant this year. And that’s a far cry from what we’ve been for over a decade.

SMU. They got embarrassed by a mid Penn State. And guess what? I just heard that OSU is favored to beat #1 Oregon. So yeah it’s SMU. We would beat every playoff team besides OSU, UGA and TX.

This is WAY worse because in 2022 we bounced back to beat Clemson in a NY6 bowl game.

That Wueful Florida Team from 1996 would like to speak with you. But the Orange Bowl game against Nebraska in the 1997-8 Season is probably worse.

Here's the interesting thing:
Tennessee was an absolute dumpster fire after Fulmer and before Heupel got here:
We lost a game with 13 men on the field
Brick by Brick and Champions of Life
Making a trash Troy Team look competitive
Making App State look competitive.
Losing to Georgia State.
Losing to Vanderbilt nearly every time during those seasons.
Not going to a bowl game in consecutive seasons
A Turnover Trash Can
Kiffin walking after 1 season

WE WERE IRRELEVANT. We played in the Playoffs. Yes, we didn't show up, but that's a whole lot better than where we were.

I think you would have to say we looked the worst. This is a very sad performance on a national stage. I’ll always be a Vol fan, but this is a massacre. Sad.

It turns out UT was the program that did not belong in the playoffs. This team could not beat SMU on their home field. Playing their toughest games at home got them to the playoffs. The opposite will be in effect next season. I give them a 20% chance of making the playoffs, no chance at the SEC championship.

Thank you! You understood my point. I wasn’t talking about playoff games from years past. It was talking about THIS year and new system.

With all the complaining about SMU or Indiana not belonging in the playoffs, it turns out that the Vols were the ones that looked most like they didn’t belong.

Our schedule was super favorable this year, and we struggled with our road games. This road game exposed us in a lot of ways. Hopefully, they learn from it and use it to grow. On the plus side, at least we were in the conversation this year. Unfortunately, when we got there, we choked.

Enjoy getting to the playoffs this year. With next year’s schedule, I don’t see the Vols making the playoffs for a chance at redemption.

I really hate that we made the Big 10 look so good last night.

They were trolling us by playing Rocky Top at the end of the game and then playing Nah Nah Nah Good Bye.
