LG, when are you going to learn that people should never be forced to pay for someone else's fiscal irresponsibility?? We are already paying for too many failed programs as is, now just make up more taxes and make us even more poor, so that way as time goes on we turn to Daddy Govt. for help. You really make me sick man. This world is so politically correct, that if you fart the wrong way, you will get sued or go to jail.

Senate-passed bill that declares Tennesseans can ignore federal health care mandates and says the state attorney general has a duty to oppose them in court.

The state legislation in question (SB3298, as amended) has already been approved in the state Senate on a 26-1 vote, with five members abstaining. It is scheduled for its first vote on the House side Wednesday, when the measure comes before a subcommittee of the House Commerce Committee.

The sole no vote in the Senate was cast by Sen. Andy Berke, D-Chattanooga. The five senators abstaining were also Democrats.

Similar legislation is also pending or has passed in several other states.

Tennessee Health Freedom Act would order state Attorney General Bob Cooper to sue to overturn any federal mandate to buy insurance.
