Teonni Key to UNC

I hope for Teonni’s sake that there’ll be a lot more fans at NC games during her career than have usually attended. They averaged 2,772 in 2018-19. UNC managed only to draw 2,655 for NC State last year. Most games drew 1550-1700 fans, and their best-attended game was against Duke at 4,916. The good thing, though, is they play in the “girls’ gym,” Carmichael Arena, and not the Dean Smith Center. 1700 fans in Carmichael can still be noticed.
Game Attendance is probably outside the top ten of reasons a player picks a college.

Pretty hard to sugarcoat this one, although I'm sure many will try. This is a devastating setback for the program, and a horrible look for Kellie as a recruiter...

Aw baloney, we will be alright. It's not the end of the world. KJH has her big girl pants on. She can take it. She won't fold up.

Game attendance was one of the main factors on why Mercedes Russell chose Tennessee.

The atmosphere that Teonni could be referring to is the campus itself as a whole since she took numerous visits to Chapel Hill.

How probable is it if UNC has a terrible season that Teonni changes her mind and transfers to play with sis for her senior year?

The portal facilitates transfers and there appears to be a lot of traffic on the portal and one never knows.....but she is going to be a star at UNC and who would walk away from that?

We seem to have added players that can play her spot. However, what does not landing the kid assuming we wanted her with her sister on the team and a few years left tell us?
That she wanted to go some where else

Baghart came in at the same time of KJH and she’s getting top recruits left and right! First Deja Kelly now Teonni #Bummer

She must have coached the USA National Team? So unfair.

Sure looks like the Tar Heels hit a homerun with Banghart. I look forward to seeing how quickly she can resurrect that program compared the what Kellie does at Tennessee...

No I’d say in women’s basketball it’s a big deal... fans usually equal program health too.
Then why doesn’t Iowa and Iowa State get the highly ranked players?
Yes, it’s attendance is one reason, but it’s way after coaching staff, location, teammates, style of play, academics, playing time. I’m sure I could come up with others.

There are some interesting, if not exact, parallels:

—Both programs were excellant in the past.
—Both programs had suffered declines to the range of pretty good, but not great
—Both had coaches who, in one way or another, crashed and burned, or just smoldered.
—Both brought in new coaches with successful records in their respective competitive arenas

The only obvious differences, to me at least, are that (1) Harper had experience recruiting scholarship scholar/athletes, while Banghart, both at Dartmouth and at Princeton, was very good at recruiting non-scholarship student-athletes. (2) Harper had a prior affiliation with her new university, while Banghart did not.

The next two to three years may show that one model works better, or that they have similar outcomes. Stay tuned.

I was not expecting her so I wish her good luck, however we have to move on . NC will give her a good education but gameday stuff will be powder blue! I care not to hear any other words about her. She made her choice and I made mine!

I supported your last post Darth, but this one I call bulls+++t. I see why some of the posters on this board do not honor you. It seems to me you have an agenda against CKH. You were probably one of those who railed against coach Barnes his first two years. I had a fellow I went to school with. The guy Complained about any positive thing said on any subject. I think he liked to be different than everyone else around him. He seemed to take great pleasure in it.
You must be kin to him
