Holly's overall a crap coach, but if she's blamed for the losses, she should be given credit for the wins.

No I can't agree with that because I watched Mercedes Russell say what she said. Makes perfect sense.

Then in other words, it's the players' fault for the loss since they don't bother to get up for the lesser teams (Mercedes' words).

As long as Holly is the coach, there will be many more 1st for many teams. She is a pathetic joke and if she is here after this year then you can mark off the lady vols basketball program as finished. There is no excuse that anybody can come up with to justify her not being fired and don't say because she has the number 1 recruiting class either. She wont be able to coach them up either.

I am ready for BABY HUEY to turn pro and DD to go with her! Maybe then we can stop throwing the ball inside and start running some offensive plays????
Bring on the rookies and start over with some simbalance of recognizable basketball principles!!!!
HA! When pigs fly. 🤔

You think this team will be better next year without Diamond and MR?

Good luck with that.

I think it's pretty good how we've all adjusted our expectations. I barely care when they lose these days. Unfortunately, I barely care when they win, too....

Yes and the word I would use to describe my feelings with the wins and losses?

Indifference.

Gone from being a season ticket holder to not caring whether the LVs win or lose. Warlick's teams are so boring it's unbearable to watch on TV.

The $$ going to her salary may as well be flushed. She was only an average assistant coach and poor recruiter for PS. No way HW should have ever become HC for this program.

We need to go out & get Dawn Staley after this season if we have any chance of returning to prominence.

Forget about Dawn Staley, Schaefer et al.

We need new blood. Orange blood. A coach not like Holly but has some connection to Tennessee. If not that then an up and coming coach who's not in his/her twilight years.

A new and improved Lady Vols team is in order.

In Five seasons Holly has not improved the LVs.

why do we seem to forget the free fall we were in before CPS retired?

It has not been forgotten but at one point we have to set our goal higher than the elite 8. The coaching in women's basketball is getting better, if you have a seed higher then 6, your first two games will more than likely be against teams that do not have the quality players like the Lady Vols. The third might be against a team with a few quality players, with the potential of our players, we have a very good chance to win, however, in the elite 8 category we have had a tough time getting over the hump. If we don't start demanding full commitment, effort, accountability and motivating our players, reaching the elite 8 will become more difficult. Then we will be excite to reach the sweet 16.

Why does it have to be ' Orange blood'. We have one that's not getting it done. What's wrong with going after Vic Schaefer? We need someone like Rick B with a no nonsense attitude.

I'm thinking along the lines of keeping the coaching lineage along the lines of Tennessee. The coaching job fell into Holly's lap, literally. She just wasn't the one. The Athletic Department granted coach Summitt's wishes but it didn't pan out. She's not a good coach.

Just personally I'm thinking about the future and how the team can evolve with a young coach that's not connected to another SEC program, especially.

I get what you are saying, and I would love to have a former LV come back and coach the team if she qualifies and very seasoned in coaching X&Os. Man if we could get Catching back even as an assistant that would put a fire under this team. But I'm afraid we will need a hard-nosed coach male or female to get this program back. It seems kids now days adapt to punishments like no lockerooms and take games off. I just don't know why this team can't play consistent bball. They were playing against 6 players today. smh

A team with this much talent?..Underachieving.
Last year's team, underachieved.

Must be the team.
both of them.

You're too funny. Yes, they are talented but they continue to underachieve.
How does one measure a team's success or failure ? Is it not by its results, by it's record ?
If a team went 8-8 in the SEC last year and are currently 7-5 in the SEC this year, aren't those the results of a pretty average SEC team ?
What happens when a very talented team continues to underachieve ? It realizes mediocrity.
