As Clay Travis says.. ironic how Sumlin with a higher win percentage at AM is a loser - but Mullen at MSU is “a great hire”

At least Sumlin has actually beaten Alabama

In his last 5 years, Sumlin is 9-4, 8-5, 8-5, 8-5, and 7-4 now with his best finish in the East being 4th and some of you want him at UT? Uh...NO...

He should have fired Chavis after last season -- plus like UT, he needed a decent QB coach before Hill and Murray left because of poor development

Hill and Murray did not leave because of poor development. Hill left because he was a drunk and was found passed out on Northgate. He was basically shown the door. Murray was a whiny little baby and his daddy didn't want him to play there any more.

Neither situation had anything to do with QB development.

Sumlin, just like Butch, loses multiple games he should not each year. Johnny was not his recruit - he was a Sherman recruit. With his players that he's recruited, he's started by losing Bowl games and losing 2-3 games per year he shouldn't lose.

2016 - Ole Miss, Miss State.
2017 - UCLA, one could argue Miss State

He's simply an average recruiter and coach. Not ready for the SEC.

Why? He's more than proven he isn't all that good of a HC. Caught lighting in a bottle with Manziel (who he didn't recruit) in year 1 and has been mediocre ever since. Hasn't been able to keep and develop a QB at all, and his defenses are always suspect despite having Chavis as DC. That school has money coming out of its ears.

He's Butch without the cheesy sayings.
