Reminding myself ,maybe a few others, this is someone's son. So it is sad that he will miss rest of season. I always prefer to beat teams when they are at full strength, so no one questions the loss in light of injuries. So they will come to Neyland prepared and we need to do so also. Currently my schedule shows we have a game this Saturday. So that is first. Tame the feathered cacklers from SC and make that first priority. Living in SC with most neighbors of ruuster version it would be nice to win and keep them silent. I haven't rubbed it in in recent years so they said nothing last year. GO VOLS!!!

Didn’t really notice any significant drop off when Johnson came in against Auburn. They have a true road test this weekend in Fayetteville. It’ll be a good measuring stick ahead of our matchup with them.

Huh? We are a better team than TAMU. Doesn’t matter if their starting QB is playing or not.
Not sure about that. Maybe I've been misinformed about their roster, but I'd assumed they have a far more talented roster with how they've been recruiting these last few years.

Sucks for the kid, but bodes well for our game against them.

They do have former LSU QB Max Johnson on the roster though. He's definitely no slouch. Put up some nice numbers at LSU.
Max Johnson actually played better than the Weigman did against Auburn after Weigman left with an injury.

They’re playing in Dallas. Neutral site game.

Max Johnson could be a problem for Tennessee's secondary.
I could be a problem for our secondary. I’m slow, marginally accurate, and can’t throw much past thirty or forty yards, but I have a pulse. QBs with a pulse are, generally speaking, a problem for our secondary.

True. But like I said, it’s not the Swamp. But the UF game is irrelevant this year.
I'm not trying to be negative, but Florida is the only quality opponent we've played so far. I was confident we would beat them by three touchdowns, and that didn't exactly pan out. We seem to be struggling to find our offensive identity so far. Saturday night will go a long way in determining what kind of team we will actually have this year. I can only hope we start clicking on offense and play like I believed we would going into the Florida game.

I agree that beating a team at full strength is how it should be done. A lot of people complain about playoff or tournament matchups and how one team or another got it "easier". I think that the best want to play the best, not play the "easiest". I would much rather take on the best and lose than beat up the weak and infirm.

Everybody’s back up QBs usually kill us. I watched the kid play and he’s pretty good. Passes more accurate than Milton.
