Spend a night in Lubbock and get back to me.

Never understood why Lubbock gets so much crap. Granted I was living Clovis at the time, but it seemed okay when I visited.

I agree... I use to live in Albuquerque and spent a lot of time in Clovis and Roswell. I would go to Lubbock a lot and it not that bad. I liked it a lot better than college station and other parts of Texas.

Now to the part of A&M being part of the SEC. I would love to see them in the league. Overall their sports department is strong. It opens up recruiting even more for the sec. I have no problem with the sec going to 14 but stop there. I am not a fan of 16. I feel 14 is the max that the league can add and still work well.

I'd like to meet him.

Looks like the whole exchange has been sanitized for our protection.

You were right, it was too far. But I wouldn't give that kind of crap on a forum more than a passing thought. He and it just isn't worth it. Some people just aren't bright enough to know where the line is.

That's fine then, as long as it was addressed. I'm mobile so I can't see. We can get back to civilzed conversation now sure. I'm done if it's done which I'll assume it is. Thanks to the mod who recognized it.

Carry on.

The league’s pledge is oral, and the A&M official said the school’s lawyers are working to get the commitment in writing.

Why didn't they get it in writing to begin with?

It wasnt offered.

Not a credible source?

The Big 12 Conference promised Texas A&M $20 million annually and the Aggies intend to collect, A&M president R. Bowen Loftin said Wednesday.

“A key part of Texas A&M’s decision to remain in the Big 12 earlier this summer was the commissioner’s commitment that Texas A&M would receive a minimum of $20 million annually in future conference distributions,” Loftin said in a statement. “We remain committed to the conference and fully anticipate that the Big 12 will honor its commitment to Texas A&M.”

I understand your confusion. Let me clarify.

The offer has only been given verbally. A formal contract on paper was never presented. Otherwise, we would have signed.

As it stands, Beebe and company need to back up what they said.

So A&M was too stupid to demand it in writing and basically agreed based on Beebe's word?

And people actually want these guys in the SEC?

Oh dont be mistaken. The folks in Austin and in Norman did the same thing bud. It wasnt just us. Nice try though.

Call it "stupid," or not. But if I made a decision on the offer of a large payout from an organization that was on life support, I sure as heck would get a signed written agreement to confirm it.

How could you not, with that amount of money at stake?
