Texas AM vs UF

Is McElwain's seat getting hot?

He just signed an extension in July, they owe him quite a bit, plus they are paying Colorado St., and I think they are still paying Muschamp through the end of the year. Life is good being a head coach in college these days.

SNAP. That rubberband the gators have been stretching I think just snapped. They have been playing around with mediocrity for awhile, and sharkhumper has been able to delay that with miracle wins, which I think just ran out. As a TN fan hope they keep him, but if I was a gator fan you better hope he is gone. Crazy to think Florida could be in a worse conditition where the keep him, fire him crowd is more evenly divided. Whereas TN may be moving onto new horizons.......I.e who knows where. Yet our move is pretty much settled itself.

Don't we have the same record now? Obviously UF has the edge for beating us and their losses were to slightly better teams but how the mighty have fallen.

In the last two games we have been at home and scored 16 and 17 points, respectively.

You can't win doing that. And that's not Florida football.

Time for a change.

Not a chance. You're stuck with McElwain for at least another year. Those back to back east titles are gonna save him this year.

Also he has an excuse because of all the suspensions.

Because they lost to A&M?

Not because of that, no. Because the offense continues to look lethargic, is ineffective, and can't get out of its own way.

There is a ton of talent there, truly. And I'd give him a pass because Franks, to quote Bull Durham, has a million dollar arm and a five cent head, but with our oline we ought to be able to run the ball when called for, and yet we can't.

The problem changes slightly from week to week, but that's the bottom line: the offense continues to struggle as it has for years upon years, and it shouldn't with those players.

From this morning's Orlando Sentinel:

A six-game sample is plenty to make some definitive statements. The Gators offense is putrid and predictable, Feleipe Franks is the starter only because there’s no one on the bench who can challenge him, and the majority of the Florida fan base is fed up with McElwain.

Sounds familiar.

Florida needs to give Ole Yeller an extension. Come on Gators, he won the East back to back years! He's a genius! Great recruiting class coming in! Give him time, he's showing resiliency and resolve. And those bricks. Long-term contract, IMO. Lock him up!

Anytime the other team scores more then 14 points we usually lose lol **** is pathetic

McElwaine is getting closer and closer to the edge

Could losing to a bad FSU team to end the year 5-7 or 6-6 be enough to fire his sorry azz?

Well yeah a FSU loss might do it(hope they do lose), but the buyout is bigger than Sumlins

Unless you guys go 5-7 or worse then McElwain will be back. Gonna be hard to hire a decent coach if you guys are going to fire a a guy removed from two consecutive SEC title game appearances.

Ehh I don't know about that

UF hasn't had an offense finish the year inside the top 100 in any of macs years probably didn't in any of muschamps yrs either

The bar is very low at this point I'm not sure why any coach wouldn't understand firing mac and muschamp

Mac was hired to fix the offense and he hasn't even come close matter fact it's gotten worse somehow even tho the players have gotten better not sure how that works

Oh yea and he ran off will grier who's lighting it up as one of the best quarterbacks in the country at WVU

He's like 5-12 when the opponent scores 14 points that says it all

lol hell no he has sucked at Louisville recently that defensive coordinator hire after grantham left was awful

I would like Scott frost personally assuming we can't get lucky with a bigger name like fuente or patterson
Frost is almost assuredly headed to Nebraska.
