Texas Longhorns job is terrible

Gonna take a couple years to get Texas back to their old standards. They will need back to back top 10 classes at least. Plus with Stoops gone the B12 is essentially up for grabs, at least in terms of recruiting battles. Certainly wont take 6 years to build a program back like Butch would have you believe.

Very interesting. I wonder how long it will take for the fans to turn on Herman. Or the administration.

Here's the thing though...

Even with them being a P5 team, Texas doesn't lose to Maryland. Period. And Strong didn't leave the cupboard entirely bare. Also though, perhaps DJ Durkin is better than others gave him credit for. He seems to have Maryland moving in the right direction at the moment and is in year two. Perhaps they are on an uphill trend as he gets his recruits into the system and comfortable.

I love just outside the D.C. Area and commute from Virginia to Maryland for work. I listen to the local sports radio quite often and the thinking around here is that Maryland is a solidly coached team with some decent talent. Durkin did some good things last year although the record didn't show it. I wouldn't be surprised to see them as a top 25 team in the next year or two

Yeah, Maryland has some horrible uniforms. It's like they are trying to outdo Oregon in the snazzy uni department and utterly failing at it.

It's like someone in their fashion department covered themselves in super glue and jumped in a dumpster behind the Goodwill store.

Haha! Nice analogy Grand, that sums it up beautifully

I'll be in the vast minority here but I think Marylands unis are better than most the garbage Oregon wears.

It was a the first game and it wasn't like they was playing a awful FCS team. Texas will always be a good job because of the $$,name and potential to recruit Texas. Even their coach said they would be lucky to be a 5-7 team this season.

Good point! Fans forget that most of these teams are equal except the top 10. And it doesn't matter how much the coach gets paid. If the coaching is better and the talent is close then the best coached team wins. It's been like that for 10 years.
