Nobody expected us to make the CWS with the guys we lost. The end hurts, and it was a tough game to go out on. But in the end, all the major athletic programs at UT are in the best spot we've seen in at least two decades. Good time to be a Vol

Top shelf season after the loss of a number of very talented hitters, Vitello directed perhaps his best season at Tennessee and the kids played hard, never gave up and showed all fans the level of talent and competitive fire it takes just to get to Omaha, hate going home early, but the season was successful and the program is on a good spot

Morning after its over as i sit here at work, listening to Basilio i gotta say that this may be one of the best coaching jobs we've seen in any sport at UT. From where this season started and losing 8 position players to where it ended, and the teams we sent packing, it was pretty amazing transformation. I know alot of people were frustrated, me included, and some said some things we probably shouldn't out of frustration but as i sit and think about the entire season and talking with a co-worker man what a ride and I just want to say THANK YOU TENNESSEE VOLS! And we absolutely look forward to the growth this team can make going forward!

I want to congratulate the Vols for over coming the difficulties in the season and coming together to make this year.I also want to thank the men and women on this Baseball forum for welcoming me with open arms and helping me learn how to control my temper. I have made friends on here I never thought I would when I started but out of all the forums this is my favorite and for this I thank all of you. Looking forward to future seasons of great team results and winning National Titles. So let's have a great off season and go Vols Football. Side note Lady Vols forum hated me all season lol.

But you know the committee lied about that. For Pete's sake, the USM stadium didn't even have a visitor locker room!!!
Not to take the thread on an unappreciated vain (I loved this team as well and they grew, got better, and made it to Omaha and that's a huge credit to Tony and his staff) but the mistake made by the NCAA on the super regionals to Birmingham almost cost us. I usually don't go off on these things but that decision is unforgiveable and HOPEFULLY DW will be in conversations with the NCAA over a mistake EVERYONE without a dog in the race agreed was WRONG. Not on a conspiracy chase etc but just can't happen again. JMO

Great season. Made it through a gauntlet of an SEC schedule to make it to Omaha for the 2nd time in three years.

It has been a fun season, ups and downs and all.

BaseVols are here to stay.

Yep, one of my favorite teams along with the Hooker Vols.

This might make you feel better:

50. Louisiana
> Population: 4,624,047 (-0.7% in last year)
> Life expectancy at birth: 75.2 years (5th lowest)
> Median household income: $52,087 (3rd lowest)
> Median home value: $192,800 (11th lowest)
> Median housing costs as pct. of income: 15.5% (9th lowest)
Based on a range of key socioeconomic indicators, Louisiana ranks as the worst state in the country to live in. While the state has advantages, including a low cost of living and more sunlight than most of the country, it compares less favorably in other ways.
For example, Louisiana's 2020 violent crime rate of 640 reported incidents per 100,000 people is fifth highest among states. Incomes are also generally low in the state, with most households earning only about $52,000 or less annually, while most households nationwide earn over $69,000 annually. Women in the state's workforce are especially disadvantaged, earning only about 73% as much as their male counterparts, the second worst gender pay gap among states. Additionally, about one-in-every-five Louisiana residents live below the poverty line, the largest share of any state.

This team showed heart and fought adversity that the past two teams didn’t have to. They had a lot of pressure from the onset and they could have just mailed it in and focused on draft preparations but they eventually started coming together and had one heck of a season. It’s hard to just throw an entirely new lineup together in one offseason and be successful. I hope this season gives a lot of people some perspective on how difficult it is to not only win baseball games but win in the conference we play in. 2 of the remaining 4 teams are from the SEC and if we weren’t matched up with Skenes out of the gate I fully believe we would have been one of the remaining 4 teams. We tied the best 3 year stretch for total wins from 1993-95. Tony has some great talent coming in. We are now in a position where we are retooling every year instead of rebuilding. Great things are on the horizon, especially with the LNS expansion incoming. Congrats 2023 BaseVols and looking forward to all their future success!

It was an amazing year and brought us fans a lot of joy. Ups and downs, wins and sometime losses. Team wants to win, fans want to win. But it is the competition, the effort, the thrill we enjoy! Thank you 2023 Vols you worked as hard as anyone to get there! And you did. Just came up a few hits short! Which happens in baseball. Stay together! Continue to improve! We appreciate it and look forward to next year! Amazing what you carved out for a completely new team from last year tbh!
Thanks, from your fans!

A huge thanks to players, staff and coaches on a wonderful season. Being an old ball player from back in the day it is a real joy for my wife and me to get to watch at LNS throughout the season. Baseball is a sport of frustration and elation and learning to get back up and try again is perhaps it's biggest lesson. While there were the frustrations my memories of this year will be the special moments as the team grew throughout the season. Thanks for all the effort and sacrifice, and especially that Clemson win. I rank it right there with the best games I have ever watched. Also, the big comebacks that showed the growth of the team. Sad to see some of you go on to careers but I wish you nothing but success and happiness in your lives. For those coming back, we will be at LNS in February as you write a new chapter in Vols Baseball History. The future is better for what you accomplished in 2023. Go Vols!!

I am really proud of our boys. They fought hard and represented the University well. The future looks bright for this program. It’s just getting started. Until football season folks..
