I sincerely believe you tried your best, and I appreciate the emphasis on character and honor that you brought back to my Alma Mater. I really was hoping things would work out for you.

Good Luck.

Not sure about the bolded part.

I wish him and his family peace and love...Its been a rough few years for him. He has great character and no matter what anyone says I know he tried to turn it around for us...it was just too big of a job and its also gotta be hard when your Jr QB completely quits on you!! Now its time for the right man for the job!

I feel like there are plenty of Dooley hate threads out there, not sure why so many feel the need to come into this thread and ruin a nice sentiment just because you disagree?

They're just like politicians... love to hear themselves talk.

That's a fair statement. I just don't know what there really is to thank him for other than taking the job when no one else would. I wanted him to succeed but unfortunately he failed miserably. I do wish him well at whatever he ends up doing next. He's perfect for television. He should go into broadcasting.

That pathetic display last night does not deserve any thanks. Screw him.

CDD deserves thanks and appreciation. I promise you he did his best and if you want to be classless keep running your mouth like the hillbilly redneck you are.

IMO he wasnt ready, but that doesnt mean he didnt try his hardest or give it his all.

If you want to throw stones, aim them at the one who hired him.

CCD deserves thanks and appreciation? The guy gets payed 2.5 million a year then gets fired and will literally earn 5 million more that he doesn't have to work for. We don't owe him a thing.

My thank you is for taking the job nobody wanted. It didn't work out, and I wish him well in the future. Gotta be tough for the family.

CDD I had faith in you , in the process, in the ability of your assistant coaches... I hate that it didn't work out..

I feel bad for your Kids that have to go to school tomorrow morning in K-Town.. Gonna be rough on them.

Please enjoy your 5 million Orange bucks...

From everything I've heard about him being such a "good guy," my best advice would be "pack your ish and get the eff out." It's come out of the woodwork recently just how much of an asshat he really is. Should have been apparent dating all the way back to the shower comments. Derek, you brought this upon yourself.

I could not agree more. Dooley was personally my favorite coach since Majors. I stress PERSONALLY. He was a military historian, which I love. And he was a man of class and dignity. It was the happiest moment in years when he was fired, but I cried for the man. I wished he could`ve done it,but he was in a tight spot and had bad luck. I will always admire Coach Dooley and wish him well in all his future endeavors. He gave his all for us,but it wasn`t meant to be. It is a sad day. But from the darkest night, comes the brightest dawn. Auf weidersehen,Herr Dooley. WE ARE BACK!! TENNESSEE FBALL IS BACK!! GO VOLS!!!!
