I think the play from his comments will actually help him in the long run. More people will tune in to see if he says anything like that again.

I freaking love Rome. I was terribly sad when they took him off the radio here in Knoxville. I use to hate him just like everyone else, but he's just like owning a horrible pet, you really hate it for the first little while, then after a while, it grows on you.

exactly. i think the reason most people "hate" him is because he tells the truth. i mean if florida was in this situtation Tn is in and he is coming down on them, people on here would be his biggest fans

He doesn't tell the truth; he goes off on the same talking points that the Brick on FSR and other national sports shock jocks go off on.

I'm not Rome's biggest fan, but I admit I do listen to his radio program 2-3 times a week just for the e-mails. Easily the world's best source for crass sports-related humor.

Never heard of this Jim Rome guy. But, it would be neat if he had a segment called something like "Rome is Burning"...
