Thank You Josh Heupel

And that decision could prove to be disastrous in the long run. It could split the locker room.
No it won'tr. Sark's response to the question of a QB issue, was smart, decisive, and cut to the quick. Arch will get his chance, he knows it. With Peyton, Eli, and Archie in his ear, he won't make for a toxic locker room.

It comes from people who are easily influenced. The same ones screaming "we're going undefeated" and "Nico winning Heisman" after a few easy wins to open the season are the ones screaming "fire Heupel/nico needs to be benched" once we start playing peer level competition and better.

I assume they're mostly really young fans. It's kinda funny but still quite annoying. Like this is their first season to watch college football.

Nico will be fine, I'm very high on him. But I didn't expect him to be the best qb in volunteer history this season either, he's a RS freshman lol.
Be honest - you expected Nico to be considerably better than he’s been in SEC play?

This win will be the reason he says no to OU when their job opens in a month. The first Bama win could’ve been written off as a fluke. But beating them a second time has him believing he can regularly contend here. He is having the time of his life and I don’t think even the pull of his alma mater whom he once led to a natty will be enough to lure him away from what he’s building here.

We are 3-2 in the last 5 games vs top 10 teams under JH. What was it before he arrived?

You can see how his love for the Vols has evolved as well. The Go Vols rolls off his tongue a lot easier now. He bleeds orange.

I am enjoying the ride. For 15+ years we have absolutely suffered as football fans prior to your arrival. Watching our beloved program fall to the bottom of the barrel of college football. A once proud program that was historically a top 10 program in college football by multiple measures.

You have resurrected our program. You have beaten Alabama twice and Florida twice in your 4th season. You have destroyed LSU in Death Valley. You have destroyed Clemson in a bowl game. You have had the Vols ranked #1 in the country (though briefly), you have had the Vols ranked in the top 4 (though briefly). You have made UT more than relevant again, you have made them a contender.

It is truly amazing what you have done for this program.

Thank you, sir. Thank you, I can't wait to continue to see what the future holds.

We've also been ranked for 67% of AP rankings since he took over. Only his first year were we not ranked at least 1 week.

I thought it would take some time before he became a difference maker. Still do.

I do feel like he showed some maturity in the second half last night. Hopefully it continues.

What I love most, is Heupel just keeps calling the long passes. The kid will get it down and be a real Heisman threat next year I believe.

You could see it his elite ball placement skills in the first few games when he had perfect pockets and open receivers. The ability is there. Its coming.

Let's face facts......NIL and the transfer portal have not hurt Tennessee any either.

I thought after Nico got hurt, that turned a light on for him. Still overthrew some deep balls, but they were about one step ahead of the receiver. After that hit, he played a different manner that got the team down the field and put points on the board. The Tide didn't have any answers for the offense after that. I still believe he is gonna be a beast before he leaves Tennessee.
I agree with your assessment. After he came back in he actually was seeking out contact on a couple the scrambles. That tells me that he isn’t scared and he played like he wasn’t. That hit may have been the play that the light came on for Nico and he was able to realize that hey ‘ I can do this’. Let’s hope he builds confidence off of his second half performance.
