I'll be at the game this year, my first trip to Neyland. I have high hopes for this game.

Why you trying to rain on this guys parade? Yeah, they both were elite programs but florida kind of had their way with us for several years even when we were really good. A win over florida I will take any day and I don't care where our programs stand....it's still UF and we all still hate them!

Trust me, a win will have a very good effect on our team, fan base, recruiting, etc. Not saying we are going to win.....just that it would be huge for us!

National pop? I guarantee the whole country would notice!

Completely disagree. This win will be HUGE. It will not go unnoticed when UT wins.

Hardly anyone noticed that UK took them to 3OT's last week.

15-20 years ago you didn't have 50 games on TV every week. The prime match-ups were featured as national games and there was very little viewing alternatives. It's just not the same.

As far as UT winning, it will be great for the program, but this isn't a "rush the field" situation. They were a 4-8 team last season.

That's your opinion and you can't prove it! But if we could I would bet that most (at least 75% of college football enthusiasts) in florida, kentucky, Tennessee and alabama saw the highlights. And it stuck with them.

Just because you have many more games on TV doesn't mean in any way that the non-highlight games are less important. There are many more channels and social media does a fine job of hyping those games up.

No, it's not the same. Not much is these days. 5 sticks of gum isn't 25 cents anymore. But you don't dwell on that do you?

Obviously it isn't a rush the field kind of thing. But it is still a big win. It helps us get to a bowl game...if we win!
And it's always great to beat a team who has had your number for several years!

I still remember the call from Ward like it was yesterday.... The kick is in the air and the kick this time is....No Sir Ree!...No Sir Ree, Final Score Tennessee 20, Florida 17. Great memory! What a game!

I don't care if a select few on here don't see how big it will be for our program. I'm driving 400 miles and going with my dad to watch us win this year. It will be huge to me and to recruits and most importantly our boys in Orange to beat Florida. Can't wait. Go vols!

If you read what I wrote, I said it would a good win for UT just to get the monkey off our back.

The poster I was quoted was talkibg about getting tased in the checkerboards, which means storming the field. Even you admitted beating them this year isn't worthy of that.

So you're arguing with me while agreeing with me. Odd!

My friend, former college roommate, and I were at that game sitting next to 2 guys from Ohio State who had chosen this game as the game outside their conference to attend that year. They had scoured the stores back in Ohio for any copy of Rocky Top- to no avail. We taught them the words to Rocky Top so they could sing along :) I remember it was sweltering hot and deafening loud so that you could not hear yourself talk or yell. When the game came to it's explosive conclusion.. they both said that it was by far the best game they had ever attended and the atmosphere was something that they said they were sure they would never witness again.. well worth the money they had spent. Then we ran down to the field and climbed the fence and jumped over the hedges to celebrate. You barely blinked before the goalposts were down. Most exciting game ever!

I have grandchildren almost twice his age. I saw some of the Neyland teams but it was near the end of his tenure. We struggled a little until Dickey had his run when he had some really good teams. I have been through lot of ups and downs and I am extremely excited about what I see Butch doing. We are at the threshold of something as big as the 90s. We just have to be patient and positive and it WILL happen. Happy days are soon to be here again.

I agree that we hit the jackpot with the Coach Butch hire. I think he will do great things on the Hill. I just hope he doesn't pull a Kiffin and run off to greener pastures. It's great to have a real football coach again after those last two clowns Hamilton hired.

Do the damn thing bro. if i could afford to be with you i would be boogeying down on the field myself...and trying to get to CBJ. Really want to meet him. I was disappointed when we hired him. Never trashed it, just quietly doubted. I was so very wrong. He is an amazing coach and i thruly believe we will bein the playoffs at least every 5 years beginning right now.2015 to 2020...at least once. 2020 to 2025 at least once. etc etc....he is that good of a coach and we are that great of a program.

Id like to add that i see the playoffs expanding to 8 teams as soon as contractually possible so we will make the playoffs more than 20% of the time...FWIW

I will be there. Just cant see rushing the field for an unranked Florida team. I know its been a while but I just want to act like weve done it before. Yall go ahead though, I wont be mad at cha. I promise you no one will be yelling any louder than I will.
