That sinking feeling when...(bama trophy)

Bama is now cursed. Look at what happened to the other two programs that shattered their ball shortly afterwards!

"The crystal football has been a fragile piece in recent years. In 2008, Florida had its broken when then-recruit Orson Charles fumbled the ball away. In 2004, Florida State had a pair of trophies stolen from a glass case outside of Bobby Bowden's office during renovation of the building."

Look at the state of UF and Bowden at fsu!

What's Tennessee's excuse? :)

Ugh I'd hate to be that guy

...and you just know that - even though unintentional - he's going to end up getting some undeserved (/ over-the-top) sh-t from some group of fans

TUSCALOOSA | The crystal football trophy the University of Alabama received for winning the BCS National Championship in January was accidentally destroyed Saturday, and the school is taking steps to have the item replaced.

A university spokesperson confirmed that the trophy was accidentally knocked from its stand by the father of a current player, but declined to identify the culprit, who apparently tripped near the display.
The trophy, made of Waterford crystal, is valued at $30,000, and it remains unclear if UA had the item insured. It was on display in the Mal Moore Athletic Building when the accident happened following the Crimson Tide's annual A-Day scrimmage Saturday. The trophy was being displayed in the Hall of Champions on the building's second floor.

It is insured, and will be replaced. Only thing worse than breaking the trophy is not having one.

You're kind of doing it wrong here though; in this case, they do have one.

You'd probably have been better off here doing something along the lines of still getting a shiny new trophy and/or comparison of better than [synonym for aged] one, perhaps with some reference to having collected dust.

I've heard they're going to mortgage the entire city of Tuscaloosa to raise the $30,000 for a replacement ball.

What crap luck, they luckily survive an F5 tornado coming horribly close to their sports facility to have a BBQ-filled, father of a bama recruit wreak havoc on their hardware.
