i was just jokin man chill out....ive seen u post here twice: once was to go off on everyone for making a big deal about Jr changing his # (even though no one was) and now your brining up Dale Sr cautions?? :dunno:

I brought up Dale Sr.'s bogus debris cautions while making the point that bogus debris cautions are nothing new.

I saw a lot of handwringing by Jr. fans regarding the #8 and the Budweiser logo. My only response was that if they're true fans of the man, the clothes he wears shouldn't matter.

I still havent been told what made Gordon the best driver yesterday.

And where did the throwing water bottles on the track come from??? Sounds like horse crap to me

O, its the way he drove the car to almost win. I dont think he could have walked down Denny if he was not half the driver he is. Look how he worked on Martin Truex and got around him. It is the little things like these that make a driver and some times they are very subtle.

there hasnt been a good race to watch in a while, lets hope Daytona is :good!:

Ditto on that!! Snoozers and cautions. I'm afraid the "FireCracker" will be a demolition derby. Oh how I hate restrictor plates.

CC:

Forgive him -- he's just a Jeff fan. I hardly think Jeffie was the best in the race.

I'm just so glad I'm with RCR. I will NEVER cross-over to The Pink Team.

Sure, it would be nice if he could keep either the # or the sponsor, or both... but either way, he's my boy. If I can deal with him going to HMS, I can deal with anything. :)

yep, you're right, can't stand anybody named earnhardt. hate the ground they walk on.

get a life. just because I invoked the almighty Earnhardt Sr. in a thread about Gordon that makes me a hater? sure.

:cray: For someone that doesn't like Dale Sr., Dale Jr. or their fans, you sure do spend a lot of time crying about them.

when have I ever said that I don't like Dale Sr., Jr., or their fans?

if that's something you want to infer, then more power to you.

I will say this, Dale Sr. and Jr. both handle(d) themselves in a far classier manner than some of their fans do.

MG, I am willing to bet that your favorite driver (if you even have one) probably conducts themselves in a classier manner than you do. The only posts that I have seen you make over here are just to get people riled up. Are you even a fan of Nascar or racing?

Nice edit:p. Your post was much more accurate when you were accusing me of being a smartass.:eek:k:

This is what I said: I can always count on you to show up and make a smartass comment. You do have a habit of doing that.

ok, now that I have made an a$$ of myself in some people's eyes, let me try to mend a fence or two.

I am not an Earnhardt "hater", I wasn't a fan of Sr., but when he died, I realized that NASCAR lost a large part of it's soul. Jr. has proven himself to be a capable driver and a media machine. I believe that he works his tail off and has earned his way into a slot with the premier racing team in NASCAR.

Am I a fan of NASCAR? Yes, I am. Is my favorite driver a classier guy than me? You bet, Mark Martin is one of the classiest people in any walk of life. Do I wear Mark Martin merchandise? No, I don't. Why? Because I believe that NASCAR has become one big commercial and has forgotten that it is the man behind the wheel, and the men behind the pit wall that have made the sport great.

no sponsors, no great men.

EXACTLY..........u dont wear mark martin merchandise bc u think nascar is too commerical??? who do u think spends tens of millions of dollars each year so that us fans can enjoy the sport? the sponsors!!! so did u stop wearing Vols merchandise when they signed the deal with adidas???

the men are great in spite of their sponsors not because of their sponsors. I won't argue that there's a direct correlation between sponsorship dollars and quality, championship winning cars. But do you think Shauna Robinson could win if she were driving the Dupont 24?

Adidas won't help the Vols win an SEC title. A college's uniform deal is different than the sponsorship of a Nextel Cup ride. Adidas shoes won't make them run faster or turn corners tighter. Adidas jerseys won't make them harder to tackle.

could she win in Gordons car? honestly, i don't know, but she sure as heck would perform better.

my point is, it doesn't matter how great you are because without a sponsor nobody is going to see you race. the sponsor allows you the opportunity to become great or show your greatness by funding your race team.

no money=no racing.
