Because then they are labeled "uncle Toms" , sellouts, Oreos, and a half dozen other names freak would ban me for typing here...those labels can be branded on young blacks for simply speaking proper English instead of Ebonics, seeking higher education, getting white collar jobs....you know, trying to do better in life? Strange culture, wonder why that doesn't apply to all the NBA, NFL, rappers, etc who marry a trophy hot blonde when they make millions? Surely they are shunned by black women for not "keeping it real"...but I have never heard them criticized by black men...guess that's not "selling out"? It's strange my 2 little sisters are 2 years apart, raised in the same house...older 1 listens to mostly hip hop, but a little of everything. Younger one listens to mostly Christian and country. Both are black, smart, beautiful ladies. Both have done well for themselves in life so far. Their tastes in music, clothes, etc very rarely overlap though. They always went to the same schools until college.
