That's racist!

Lmao.

I finally saw it over the weekend. I liked it, it was an average Marvel movie.

The adults that have thought that this is anything more than a movie are pathetic. Pathetic. Wakanda isn’t real and it never will be.

They're just nerds is all. They are nerding out for the movie. Nothing more. Nobody thinks Middle Earth is real. Nobody thinks Wakanda is real. It's for fun, you sad old ****.

You might think this is pathetic. I think it's awesome that people find community in stuff like this, tho it's not my thing.

Idiots! Don't they know the ring of power isn't real?

Despite your sarcasm, you're actually kinda right. It is groundbreaking because a "black" movie was able to justify a huge budget and deliver.

Here is a list of the top 10 most expensive "black" movies of all time. No joke, Ride Along and Fat Albert are on here. There was only one other movie that got a budget over $100M and that was Bad Boys II, which barely broke even in theaters.

The 10 Most Expensive Black Movies Of All Time (LIST) | Global Grind

So the fact that a "black" movie got a $200M budget (with no Will Smith) and proved to be a golden goose is an eventful thing, culturally speaking.

The entire discussion is racist beyond words. And it ain't whitey being racist in all of this.

Starbucks' discrimination training can't arrive soon enough.

Starbucks apologizes for slur on customer's cup

The apology on social media came after a customer at a Starbucks in La Cañada Flintridge, California, found the word "Beaner" -- a derogatory term for Mexicans -- printed on his coffee drink instead of "Pedro," his name.

A friend of Pedro's who translated for him told CBS Los Angeles that his "friend was also sad" about the unfair treatment.

If a friend had to translate for him, then who figured out "Beaner"? The guy who doesn't speak English? Maybe he just reads it?

Just wondering out loud. It's wrong at any level, and seeing Starbucks with egg...sorry, organic vegan soy egg...on their face again is very entertaining, but it seems to me that the very segments of society that Starbucks so famously and publicly caters to are suddenly being subjected to very "un-Starbuck-like" behavior in their stores.

Maybe they should shut down for a week to cover all of the possible ways they might offend someone. They should take their time, and make sure they address race, religion (oops, never mind that one), native language, gender, gender identity, gender neutrality, gender blending, gender manufacturing, gender uncertainty, gender denial, gender......never mind, just take a day off and hope for the best moving forward.

Your post is spot on.

"Booty Call" transcends race, imo. Who hasn't been left scrambling for a condom at some point?

It's not believing it's anything more than a movie. It's hoping some day it is more than a movie. What is wrong with dreaming that some day a predominantly black nation could be so advanced that it didn't need outsiders to help them. I find it admirable. And saying that, I can't help but feel it somehow comes across as racist, but it certainly isn't meant in that light.

Ah yes. You’re cornered and hurt. You always start distorting the argument when you get hurt.

There’s nothing wrong with liking a movie. There’s nothing wrong when many kids dress up as black panther for Halloween.

Get back to me when these people think the middle earth is/was real and those movies are proof of some greater thing. If they believe it is they’re pathetic too.

Remember when people got depressed after watching Avatar because of Pandora? They’re pathetic too. Audiences experience 'Avatar' blues - CNN.com

But only with the help of alien technology?

Definitely racist. lol
