It's incredibly funny, but there's no way in hell that movie would ever be made today. I recall thinking if you really paid attention that it was just as much of a play on stupid white people as it was racist.

Except when it’s played on TV and they censor out the farting noises. Ridiculous. Mel Brooks movie but Richard Pryor was co-writer and that’s where some of the saltier stuff comes from.
It probably did more to show the ignorance of racism than people want to acknowledge.
