That's racist!

I dont have a problem with people not stepping out of their comfort zones, I was trying to put it nicely. Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension.
I know, wasn't really aimed at you. Just making a general comment. There are many now that think that there are no such things as "conservative" comfort zones anymore.

I think he did tell them he was on drugs.

George Floyd: Yes, I was just 'Hooping' earlier.

I really don't think he was talking about basketball.

What could "Hooping" be slang for in that context? Please refer to definitions #2-5 Urban Dictionary: Hooping (Spoiler: Hooping means you shoved it up your butt).

The defense will use this in court.

Speculations on how that will play out in court aside, for now I'll defer to our resident VolNation members with LE experience.

LE: You are questioning someone exhibiting erratic behavior about using narcotics/drugs, point out to him he's foaming at the mouth, and he tells you he's been "Hooping";
Are you aware of the words slang usage?
How do you interpret that?
Do you think he's literally trying to tell you he'd been playing basketball?

Page 6:

Officer: You on something right now?

George Floyd: No, nothing

The defense will certainly use this in court. Direct question. Direct answer. If the cop testifies that he doesn't know what hooping it means then that's the end of that.

More importantly, does anyone see systemic racism here?

If the cop testifies that he doesn't know what hooping
I'm trying to leave interpretation as open as possible because I'm genuinely curious as to whether the average patrol officer stays current enough with slang that they would have recognized 'hooping'.

Not a chance the officers testify they don't/didn't know what hooping is however.

I can't recall the verbiage off hand that the MPD uses for a delirious reaction/OD, but that's where their MPD training protocol allowed that they put someone in a neck restraint.

I don't think this will be a significant point in the trial.

I had a class at TSU taught by Ed Temple. He made it perfectly clear the first day of class that if you were late and his door was closed..... you’d be wise not to open it and come in. I believed him
My first professional boss I ever had was like that. He had a sign on his door that said "door open welcome, door closed beware". The guy was a douche bag and I hated him.

Is it saying expecting people to show up on time, or just certain people? If the guy is saying that certain races are always late, isn't he the racist?
When I left work a couple of years ago the "kids" i.e. the recent college graduates had a very hard time showing up for work by 8 am to make a daily meeting. Usually at least 1/2 would drag in 5-15 minutes late scrambling to look at their computers and see what kind of data they were supposed to report. Other than being late, stupid, cocky and overall whiney they were great. Thank God I no longer have to deal with it.

One slide features a guy named Alejandro who plans a meeting between two groups. Each group contains foreign professors and students. One group shows up 15 minutes early. The second group shows up 10 minutes late.

A question-and-answer section then instructs Clemson’s professors that Alejandro would be insufficiently “inclusive” if he were to “politely ask the second group to apologize.” Alejandro would also be wrong to advise the straggling, late people who aren’t respecting everyone else’s time that “in our country, 9:00 a.m. means 9:00 a.m.”

Lol at the last sentence...of course that's wrong, wtf. This writer is a nutjob
