Black people in ATL have.
You're so deranged you think history is irrelevant and should be hidden.
It's easier for a lot of people to move past it if we acknowledge it.
This violates a well-known Supreme Court decision overturning the race-based layoff of a white teacher, and contradicts a well-known federal appeals court decision, which ruled that race-based layoffs of white teachers violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
It is illegal under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. When it comes to termination (as opposed to hiring or promotion under an affirmative-action plan), an employer can’t racially discriminate even against whites.
That last paragraph is a bit of an issue. When 60% of your student body is a minority, and only 27% of the teachers are, there is a problem. However, this is a dumb way to remedy it. Targeting a person based on the color of their skin and not their merits is literally what they are trying to fix.

Who cares about the skin color of the teacher? Liberals really need to get past this but I don't think they ever will.
The agreement, reached last spring, exempts teachers from 'underrepresented' populations from seniority-based layoffs
An agreement between the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers union and the school district states that white teachers will be laid off before teachers of color, regardless of their seniority.
The agreement, which was reached to end a two-week teacher strike last spring, says that starting this school year, "if excessing a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site, the district shall excess the next least senior teacher, who is not a member of an underrepresented population."

You summed it up better than I could have.I fail to see the issue. Looks like a simple case of stupid white leftist females getting exactly what they voted for.
So only black people can teach black people? OkayThat last paragraph is a bit of an issue. When 60% of your student body is a minority, and only 27% of the teachers are, there is a problem. All kinds of rights being violated. Not surprising coming from a Democrat run city.
Gonna guess there is more to this story.
No it’s not. That last paragraph is a bit of an issue. When 60% of your student body is a minority, and only 27% of the teachers are, there is a problem. However, this is a dumb way to remedy it.
