I saw a black guy in town drive by, and he was listening to , not rap, but head banging metal music. I thought how odd that was, because I'd never seen that. Is it racist that I thought a black guy listening to heavy metal was odd?

Damn, we used to be accused of whitewashing history when we don't include slavery in period appropriate setting (see the Patriot where Mel Gibson's character had freed black servants instead of slaves), so now we just ban/protest everything set before the civil rights movement?

I don't think someone could try harder to not like something.

I liked the part where she was afraid to mess up a game in the Southern side because she was surrounded by white people. As if they would all put down their chicken legs and beat her senseless.

It would be sad to go through life this upset about things as silly as this.

Nope. It is odd. Some guys go against the grain. Lead guitarist for death metal band Suffocation is black. Animals as Leaders, a progressive metal band has a black dude as their guitarist. Its not unheard of but it is pretty rare.

I think the issue is a socioeconomic thing. You have to buy an amp and a guitar for rock/metal/country. With rap you don't need any instruments.

I have a black friend (don't tell anyone it'll ruin my racist reputation) who prefers country music over anything.
