Speaking of converting. Just found our my recovering junky sister is marrying a man more than 10 years her junior from Libya. He is here on a student visa. We are getting together as a family for Thanksgiving and now I can't have ham because of his religious beliefs. I am so angry that I can't eat ham!!! This engagement is bulls**t! (Said in my best Will Ferrell from Step Brothers voice). FTR I don't care that he is Muslim (he doesn't know that we are ethnically Jewish), I'm just mad about the ham!

what the guys have been saying. as long as you don't force or encourage or peer pressure him into eating it, and provide another option, I would have all the ham you could ever want.

It's at my grandma's house. I am going to petition her about changing the menu options. If this guy is going to be part of the family he is going to have to accept some unpleasant truths. It'll also help that my uncle is of the same mind. Hardcore conservative Nam vet.

F him, eat what you always eat. He lives in the US now, you don't live in the middle east. Just because he doesn't eat ham doesn't mean you can't.

I’m with everyone else Sarg. Have other options for him but have all the ham you can eat. I also say pigs in a blanket for an appetizer.
