I'd like to see Lefty win it, but then again if he does while Woods is out then I'm sure some will almost put an * beside it.

Putting a couple of bucks on Bubba. The field is in an intriguing bet as well.

Will be odd to see Stevie out there with AScott.

I don't think there's any other American with a shot.

Not so sure. Open can pop out flukes because of the course setups. There are some very good hound American with the right type of game. I like Mahan as a US Open type winner.

Matt Kuchar?

i should say, i don't like the chances of an American to win, not that one won't.

True, Stricks isn't long, but he does make a ton of those 8 footers you have to make to save par at the Open.

Give me Rory, Kuchar and DJ. Congressional is crazy long. If DJ can make some putts, he's got a good shot.

The US and British are impossible to handicap. You almost have to wait until after the 1st round to have any clue.

That's where I am. Given the move toward a little more playable rough, I like the bombers, but I'm with you. We just don't know until we've seen it played.

In most majors, the cream normally rises to the top. There will always be a few surprises, but overall, the best players in the world are going to be near the top of the leaderboard.
