'Cuse is extremely well conditioned - like all of Boeheim's teams...

But their big men can't run like Demarre Carrol and Leo Lyons

Doesn't mean they're not as conditioned. Carrol and Lyons have way different frames and aren't don't have nearly the same kind of games. They're just faster big guys and more versatile.

good point

speed does not necessary equal conditioning....

But you have to admit that Mizzou's style of play pretty much mandates that they be one of the best conditioned teams in the nation

Mizzou better be ready for a physical game. For my bracket's sake - and to shut the Memphis fans up - they need to win.

well... history is not on Missouri's side:
we have never made it past the sweet 16....

but then again... Memphis state does have the tendency to choke with the game on the line in the tourny

Might want to check Mizzou's tournament history again - they've made the Elite Eight twice with the current format (1994, 2002).

They haven't made it farther than that, however.

How does fatigue come into play when we don't play until thursday??

Mizzou is the best conditioned team in the country. I'm not saying they will for sure dominate... but fatigue won't be how they lose

That's because they are deep and play alot of folks.

I doubt that Missouri will get torched on defense. They are a very hard-nosed, solid defensive team. Maryland is your average team - Missouri is very good on both sides. If Tiger fans are expecting a cakewalk, they might want to reconsider. I don't think Mizzou will win, but they'll give Memphis a game.

No game from here on out will be a cakewalk for no team. I don't know of 1 Memphis fan that thinks it will be.

Also, I will agree with Mizz. has a great defense. NCAA has them ranked #71 in the nation for Field-Goal % Defense, but Memphis is ranked #1. It should be a fast up and down game unless Cal trys to slow it down but I look for a fun, great game.

Mizzou is a good team. Therefore my sarcastic remark should tell everybody that they will not press the whole game because that would be dumb with the athletes Memphis has on the floor.

You may be pissing the young TIGER fans off , but not us old timers who still have our Memphis State gear. I love it .We were good back then too .
I still have my Lexington Final Four t shirt from '85...:shades:

Mike Anderson's style has matched up well with Calipari's in the past. He's the last CUSA coach to beat Memphis and they generally played them very tight with considerably less talent.

I agree, but this time it's payback time. :) Im starting to wonder if coach Anderson is going to take the Bama job after this season because there is some talk about it. His base income is only $850,000 where he is now.

All of them will be good games. I just think the styles of these teams and the types of players they have will make it a good game. Mizzou players are tough and play hard the full game. Memphis state is bigger and plays tough as well. It will be interesting to see if Mizzou will be able to make Memphis state turn the ball over with their aggressive defense. If they dont Memphis state will own the boards and beat them pretty good.

Spot on I think. I got my Tigers to lose this one too in my bracket. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm pushing hard for Mike Davis as the next Bama coach :p
