Well coach Cal is moving from Memphis to Lexington and the Wildkitties are preparing to hang another SEC banner in Rumpus Arena. They have already ordered their next NCAA championship banner for the 10/11 season. Life is good in Lex! They, according to ESPN will be in the top 5 preseason. Tennessee might as well close up the gym and concentrate on the football. Pearl might as well go to Memphis because he will never beat Kentucky again or should I say Coach Cal. By the way, will Cal still want to play the Vols in Nashville? The office was aglow this morning with blue pride. They smiled at the comment Cal made that UK was the Notre Dame of college basketball. How ironic. Another storied program stuck in the past glory of days gone by. Sorry folks, Adolf will not rise again. Oh, they will win for sure but this is not Conf. USA and the competition is a lot tougher. Oh well, I'll get to listen to it all summer long now. They will plan their parties just like they did two years ago when Billy G. came to town. :dance2:

Well - I'd put my money on Kentucky winning the SEC next year if Meeks and Patterson are back. That's one of the least delusional statements.

cal is a good coach but one thing his teams have lacked in recent history is fundamentals, and in a league like this where almost every team will be much better next year with the exception of lsu. there will be alot of close games where teams must take care of the ball and not miss free throws . good luck.

Depending on how things go with releases and whatnot, UK could potentially have Meeks, Patterson and one of, if not, the best recruiting classes of all time. Per Rivals rankings, they could end up with the #1, #2, #3, #22, and #32 players.

Deserve it or not it will most likely happen and arrogance can't begin to describe this fan base.

And it only cost them how may million?

I'm not saying it will happen. It could turn out badly for them as well. Talk is that Orton(#22) may ask out of his LOI. Henry(#2) seems to be leaning to Kansas. Wall(#1) could end up at Duke, Baylor, or UK. Not so sure on Cousins(#3), a few schools are in it for him. Meeks and Patterson could both leave as well. They'd end up with Hood and lose their two best players.

I can't stand UK or Cal but this can only make the conference better. At least it will make Pearl work harder.

good hire imo...bad for the rest of the SEC. Unless UT wins the NCAA tourney we will never be able to keep up with him in recruiting.

I can't say it will be bad for the rest of the SEC. Cal was recruiting in Memphis and Pearl is 2 and 2 against him, right? Game after game is tough in the SEC. He won't have a 20+ winning streak going into the next NCAA tourny. Let's not give him a god status yet.

Yes, having Memphis as a national title contender did wonders for the other schools in Conference USA.

Kentucky will be better with Cal at the helm, and that means the neighborhood just got tougher. That isn't the end of the world, but I cannot understand how this is a good thing for Tennessee.

I hope it makes Pearl work harder like he did his first three years. Something happened this year. I agree with the dude at CBS - this was not a Pearl team this year.

then after that they will lose AT LEAST 3 of the guys. wall has already said he is one and done.

So what? They'll just replace him with another stud. I'd take an Oden/Rose/Beasley/Mayo/Durant any day - who cares if they're only going to be there one year.

im not sure all those players are gonna live up to that hype but thats a different subject anyway...

there is an intersting article on espn talking about the recruitng effects. basically what it said is kentucky has 1 scholarship available, if meeks or patterson opted to leave thats one or 2 more, if any of the recruits opted out then add theirs in. he said that henry was leaning towards kansas as 2nd when he commited to memphis. he said lace stephenson who is leaning towad kansas deayed his announcment today, and it looks like it may be because he is worried henry will go there, so that means henry to kansas and stephenson wherever. he said that cousins may be the only likely one to follow calipari to uk but that he may be intrigued by staying in his home state of alabama and playing down low with jaymichael green. he said wall has said that he will open up his recruitment again, and likely is now headed to duke and the cameron crazies. thats bascally everyone for memphis, now for uk supposedly ortons mother has sad she doest think her son wll stay at uk if gillespie goes so bye bye to orton. that basicaly means uk gets a class of jon hood and cousins, obviously all this can change but i dont think were gonna see uk have: meeks, patterson, henry, cousins, wall hood, orton, and nelson all in kentucky blue next year.

Henry is probably gone IMO.
Cousins is most likely going to UK
Wall is a toss up
Orton has said that he's gonna stay at UK per some pretty solid people I know in Kentucky.

Also, didn't Cal get something in his contract that says he can pull scholarships from other players? They'll find room if these guys wanna come.
