I heard the story was that it was between Green and Self and Dickey went with Green because he didn't think UT would accept someone from Oral Roberts.

I know that UT also was in contract negotiations with Kevin Stallings to become coach and Dickey took a phone call from Tim Floyd ab the position and infuriated Stallings, who proceeded to walk out

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Dickey/Stallings story happened. It has been told numerous times. in hindsight, it appears we got lucky to not hire him even though he would've been better than someone like Peterson. It appears he's headed to Pitt and Vandy is getting a new coach though.

Hope before I die, TN fans can be bored with making the tourney every season.

The trail of "almost had" head coaches at Tennessee is embarrassing, especially in light of who we ended up hiring in their place.

Yep. I can at least somewhat understand Self and Wright, because they were at small schools and hadn't really accomplished anything yet. But Kruger had been to a Final Four and coached an NBA team, and we decided to go with someone who hadn't been to the Tournament at all. I don't get it.

Well DTs minutes are exploding in the tourney.

From 3 to 4 to 11.



I will say the no call on his drive was an atrocity of officiating and changed the game greatly. Officiating should be exactly the same in the tourney are it is in the regular season and it's a shame it isn't that way

NCAA basketball officiating is always bad in season and tourney.

Agreed but the styles are completely different

That game was a fist fight with very few whistles at all. I like that style a lot personally but it isn't that way in the regular season

College game is officiated differently from half to half. No consistency and no accountability. Network annou cers refuse to criticize.
