North Carolina: With Mack Brown’s return to Chapel Hill all but official, Appalachian State head coach Scott Satterfield noted on the Sun Belt’s teleconference that he “did not hear from UNC.”

Texas Tech: Asked about the Texas Tech opening and his relationship to AD Kirby Hocutt, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables, told the Charleston Post & Courier, “Just so people understand in where I’m at right now, my son, Jake, is here (at Clemson as a freshman linebacker). He’s chasing a dream. I sold that dream to him. My responsibility as a dad is to support him for as long as he wants to chase his dreams. Who am I to be a hypocrite, regardless of what opportunities are out there? That’s how I look at it.”

Ohio State: Asked today about his plans for 2019, Urban Meyer said, “I plan to coach.”

Western Kentucky: Tyson Helton is set to become the new head coach at Western Kentucky.

Texas Tech: Kirk Bohls tweets that that Dana Holgorsen is not a candidate and “under no circumstances” will Texas Tech consider re-hiring Mike Leach. Leach himself agrees.

Apparently Venables hasn't heard of "transfer" before.

Wasn't really a denial either.

I get Brown has won at UNC 25 yrs ago, but I think I would have rather had Les Miles. I guess if Brown comes through with Kingsbury and a good DC, then its worth it.

He's spent all but 3 years of his coaching career at App State, and it's his alma mater. I wonder if he has any desire to leave, especially to rebuild a broken UNC.
Money is typically the motivator for hires like that though. North Carolina would likely more than triple his salary. He is making about $600k at App and North Carolina paid Fedora about $2m this past season.

Urban Meyer “I plan to coach in 2019”. If that’s true betcha it’s not at Ohio State. I really think this is his final stretch run in his tenure and it’s about over..

That’s not definitive at all. “I plan”. Urban is kinda nuts, probably should just head to tv for the rest of his careeer and cut losses in many different ways.

I have this feeling there likely won't be any coaching "search" involved. They probably already have a candidate waiting to take the job.

Probably right. Seems to be an internal struggle as Snyder wants his son to take over, but no one else supports that. The decision continues to drag on.
