The 2022 NFL Season Thread

I like to watch good defense, personally. The sport isn't just about throwing to wide open WR's, but I'll take that when it's Heupel's offense.
I'm think the league should dissolve The Panthers, Jags, Texans and Titans. That way, the talented players can move on to better teams. Derrick Henry is a powerhouse, but his talent is being wasted on a mediocre team with a retread at QB.

Last Sunday's Colts vs Titans match-up was retread QB vs's Goodwill QB. Who can get excited about that?

Totally disagree. Henry looks like he's on the decline.

How old are you?

Old enough to see a sharp decline in quality QB play. Have you not noticed the lack of comments here recently? Like the current NFL season, everyone is just going through the motions. Won't even be surprised to see more games end in ties, because the players don't even seem to care anymore. Like everything else, the NFL is stuck in a rut.

The NFL really needs the next generation of Manning and Brady to stay popular or a lot more people are going to start losing interest. These low scoring games and QB retreads are atrocious.

No one’s losing interest in the NFL.

Especially you since you seem determined to comment about the Titans constantly.

Things always ebb and flow in the league and people complain no matter what. Some QB play is down for 4 weeks and it's not gonna be down long enough to hurt the league in any meaningful way. Most important thing is that the games are competitive, and they are. This season has been total chaos and has all of my interest.

FTR, Geno Smith is 10th in QBR and his rating is better than Russell Wilson's last year, and he held the 10 spot. We have a lot of surprise guys playing well, and that's interesting.

Nearly every teams starting QB in the league, is another franchise's throw away garbage.

Over half the league starts their guy by my count (17).

Not counting TB12 and Stafford, who won the SB as someone else’s throwaway garbage.

I get your point on QB play, but “nearly every” is hyperbole. And the league isn’t suffering from it.

And then you got "boring" games like throw aways Geno vs Goff ending 48-45.

Goff has been so good.

I never really understood why people were so down on Geno. Not that I thought he was great, but I was very nervous about the opener with the Broncos because of how well he played last year. Look at him now with #1 reps.

Nobody wants to watch Eagles at Cardinals unless they are forced to.

Well I don't know,,, the way Detroit' s defense is
playing any team in the NFL can win against them.

I love it when people conflate their opinion to mean it's what the majority thinks.

Spoiler alert: it's not.

And "sharp decline in QB play"? It's no different than it's always been; a handful of elite QBs, a ton of good to meh and some terrible ones. Unless you're going to argue Bubby Brister was a great QB.

What is this "don't seem to care" crap? If they don't care, why are Broncos recievers slamming their helmets to the ground because Russell Wilson is an idiot?
